Last_of_the_brunnen-g scored this off of ebay and we\'re trying to get a little info on him. You know anything about this or have you seen him before?

looks like a Itz-u, but the mouth seems more open. what about the seller? he couldnt give any info on it.

Hmmm, that is interesting. I don\'t know if I have seen that one before, obviously part 3, alternate makeup look, with a bit of the screen look blended in. Has the holes for acrylic teeth, eyes cut out, and a shot of flesh paint but no finishing. I just can\'t place that mask though, it does look familiar too. It does have a hell of a lot of potential to be damn nice all done up, nice pick up Brunnen

look like a mutant

That really has a great look to it. Ton of potential, how did I miss that one?

I believe thats the one the Brazilian artist Alex Oliver was flaunting on the HMA 3-4 years ago. The mold was bought by Joe Clift (Horror Hockey Masks) and it died with his business. A few blanks have showed up on eBay since then. I don\'t know if they are coming from Joe, the artists or a mystery 3rd party. Here is some pics of the painted sculpture, and the first pull from the mold posted by Joe on his message board before it went down:

A lot of people were looking forward to this piece, too bad it ended up in the hands it did. HHM also bought a mold for a part 4 mask called the "Mauler" that was very sweet, but it kinda went down the same toilet.

Anyways, you have a sweet mask there, rare too. Who\'s painting it?

I think Golgo got it right. The seller said it was just something laying around the workshop. I asked him before ever bidding if he was Joe Clift, but he said he wasn\'t. If it\'s not Joe Clift, I think he\'s working with someone else. The eBay invoice has the name Josh Clark. The seller was also selling an unpainted Mauler which I also scored for a great price, and he makes hockey masks that look like hhm. I\'ll get some pics of that later today of everything else that I got from him.

Josh Clark? That sounds like an awful lot like Joe Clift. Why whould Josh Clark have both this piece and the Mauler? They were not the same sculptor, what are the odds that a fourth party got his hands on both molds, and has the same intials as Joe? Like you said he probably just clearing out his junk, slowly as too not attract attention. This guy burned a lot of people when he pulled his disappearing act. Did your shipments come from rural Kentucky? Its gotta be Joe. Any ways, no use crying over spilled milk, I\'m glad someone got these nice pieces.

I found some more pics of one of the 2 Maulers Joe actually painted himself. One he had displayed on a mannequin he made up, and one actually made it to a customer I believe. This is the latter.

I used to dream of this mask, at one time it was easily the best out there. But many more accurate masks have come and gone since. Still, it is a awesome (if not accurate) take on the part 4 look. It has a lot of realism in the sculpture, instead of looking like a toy.

Be sure to post pics when you get these sunabitch\'s painted!

Yep, they came from Kentucky. Another fact I forgot to mention. The good thing about the Mauler is it also has holes where you put teeth in, so I can get more accurate teeth rather than the fangs. Where do you find acrylic teeth, or do you have to make them yourself? Any any suggestions on good painters? Though I may be able to paint them myself. Just got to buy an airbrush.

Jason Mask - Golgo 13 - 03-14-2006

Uh-oh, lets not start the great "pointy tooth" debate again! I don\'t know where you would find aryclic teeth with a full root. You would need them to do a J-man 4 to give it the correct "pointy" look. I\'m guessing Alex cast his own orignally for this piece.

I am not sure who I would have paint it. I know Kelly "The Mask Doctor" Mann always does sensational work. It\'s up to you though. There is a wide range of styles (and prices) out there. I think acrylic eyes on this piece is a must too (it looks like your is cut this way too). You may also want to consider someone who does "hairing" as well, since the Jman had a couple stray strands in part 4.

Hopefully someone can point you in the right direction on teeth.
