Off Topic--new Car. - SuperDanDrista - 01-30-2008 Just paid for this today. Picking it up tomorrow. A big reason I sold most of my collection was to buy a classic muscle car or corvette. I finally found the perfect project car for an amazing price.1976 Pontiac Firebird----59,000 original miles, 400 cubic inch engine. very loud and fast. Really just a badass ride! The color you see is primer. It's ready for paint in May. Not exactly sure on which color but I want to do it up as a Formula firebird with all those decals.I sold my 88 Iroc Z camaro in November with plans of upgrading and it's finally almost here!Needs a few things to get it inspected but overall it's in amazing shape for it's age.Have a lot of plans for it.Going to be a lot of fun this summer!anyway check it out.. Off Topic--new Car. - samhain69 - 01-30-2008 AWSOME AWSOME CAR MY BRO HAS A 80 FIREBIRD AND A 80 CAMARO Off Topic--new Car. - Clint - 01-30-2008 Sweet ride bro, paint it brown and roll it like ROCKFORD....ever seen any of mine i have built and sold the past few years....still own the 1969 ElCamino SS and have a 1990 5.0 Mustang Lx that i an still working on. Enjoy it! Off Topic--new Car. - Dr.Killjoy - 01-30-2008 That's a great car Dan. The next car I want to get is a 70's muscle car also maybe a GTO or a black 1979 trans am. I love Trans AMs. If I were you I'd paint that thing black and with the gold birds on it. . Are you restoring that all completely back to original or are you customizing? I collected cars for a while and mostly had Trans Ams. I had to get rid of most of them but of all my cars the only ones I wound up keeping were the Red and gold 1984 Trans Am and the red 1998 WS6 Trans am convertible. I'm restoring the 84 little by little but is sucks trying to find new parts for it. You can find a lot more restoration parts for the older cars. Off Topic--new Car. - FlugMi - 01-30-2008 wow man.. nice score.... Are you SURE the mileage is correct... ? do you know the person and trust that ? just seems low for a 2nd gen but it could be. I Cant believe you sold your 88..... I now have a 1988 GTA trans am with rare digital dash, ws6 performance suspension, 5.7 TPI, etc, upgraded posi rear end, ( better than the posi it came with ) lots of high performance add on parts, etc etc.. FAST car. ... love my trans am. I found it last summer. I sold my motorcycle because my right leg would go numb while riding and thats not safe so I gave it up. ( should have saw the signs then about my back ,but ow well ) .. anyway, I sold my bike and found the GTA for the same price I sold the bike for so I lucked out really. .. I like my car more. Yours is pretty sweet. how is the interior ? I have one of the plastic interior panels that goes in the back next to the rear seat for the 2nd gen firebirds..and I dont need it..its actually just in my way. It needs to be sanded and re-dyed ( like most 2nd gen used interior parts) but if you need it i will give it to you free just pay the shipping bro. I can email a pic if needed. There are lots of those cars around here... if you need other parts let me know and I will keep my eyes out for what you need.ChrisPS... paint it BLACK ! Off Topic--new Car. - FlugMi - 01-30-2008 Hey Killjoy,... send me pics of that 84 and your 88 covertable ! I would love to see. flugmi@comcast.netDo you have any 15" turbo casts wheels with the bowling ball hubcaps ? is that whats on your 84 ? I want some of those for my car SO BAD and I am willing to trade my GTA gold dimpled 16's for them ..... also would love a set of PMD seats... found a powerbulge hood.. As soon as I am able to get back to work I am planning a conversion for my car... we are taking all of the GTA parts off of it and building a Knight Industries Two Thousand. Off Topic--new Car. - SuperDanDrista - 01-30-2008 Hey Chris..Yes as far as anyone can tell mileage is completely original. Massachusetts is extremely strict for insurance and titles and all that. No one could find otherwise and I think the condition reflects the mileage well...I also might think it could of sat there for a few years undriven.I absolutely LOVE the 80s muscle cars and almost looked for a GTA but decided on this car when I saw it.I fell in love with the thing. She's a beauty. I've officially named her "Veronica Vaughn" hahah!I would love to do it black with the eagle on the front and trans am decals...but without the shaker hood I would think car people would only see it as a cheap clone...DO YOU THINK I COULD GET AWAY WITH DOING THAT WITHOUT IT LOOKING TOO RIDICULOUS WITHOUT THE SHAKER HOOD? BECAUSE IT'S DEFINITELY SOMETHING I WOULD MUCH RATHER DO THAN A FORMULA. by the way, I am restoring it completely back to original. I am not a huge custom car guy. not into the fast and the furious lol..i'm a nostalgia collector not into taking it to the speedway or anything like that.Plus, whoever bought it in the 70s opted for a 400ci engine option rather than a crappy 302...so it already has a big enough engine to pull off a trans am look. Convince me it's ok and i'll do it lol Anyway thanks guys..I hope you like her name hahah Off Topic--new Car. - SuperDanDrista - 01-30-2008 By the way, Chris, if I got an 80s trans am instead, I would of definitely done some knight rider adaptions to it. I know this was an option in 82 I believe, but the bowling ball hubcaps are a must for a black trans am. I think those look so badass! Off Topic--new Car. - travsall - 01-30-2008 DAMN!! Nice car Dan, that is slick as hell man! Congrats!! You have to post pics when this is done, I can't wait to see it finished. If it was mine, I'd do a real low key paint job, flat black, with gloss black highlights. But that's just me, I love the minimalistic look on muscle cars, puts the attention on the car and not the body in my eyes, while still looking 100% bad ass! ![]() Off Topic--new Car. - SuperDanDrista - 01-30-2008 Travis, this is more what I'm shooting for. This one is a 79 though so it has a different front end..but basically same car.Like seriously, this will be me on a daily basis in the summer LOLhttp://www.youtube.com/v/6SvyjXXZqRI&rel=1 |
