Anyone Into Ufc? - Mutilated - 05-08-2006 I\'ve been into UFC for a very long time, love it to death. I don\'t get much in to the ultimate fighters but I order every single PPV every month. Anyone Into Ufc? - SuperDanDrista - 05-08-2006 Royce Gracie is gonna get his hiney handed to him. All his ground work was great when he was fighting karate \"experts.\" But Matt Hughes is far superior on ground and stand up. It\'ll end fast i\'m sure. it\'s a complete fantasy to believe that Gracie can win...but don\'t quote me  Anyone Into Ufc? - stainboy - 05-08-2006 I\'ve been into UFC since it\'s inauguration. I\'ve also seen every single UF show. I trained in Tae Kwon Do, Judo, and Aikido, but most of my training has been in Aikijitsu. I\'ve always loved MMA..... Royce Gracie has been my favorite from back in the day (well before Dana White started p*ssyfooting it with the stupid time limits and padded gloves) It hasn\'t been the same since....but I hope the 41 year old Gracie can pull off a miracle against Hughes. Keep in mind that comparing Gracie to Hughes is like comparing Michael Jordan to LeBron James. In Gracie\'s prime, Hughes wouldn\'t have lasted a round.....you have to keep in mind that Gracie is now an old man. If pulls it off somehow, I tell you I\'ll never give Hughes credit as a good fighter again. In my opinion, Hughes has nothing to gain....only something to lose by taking the chance against a 41 year old.... Anyone Into Ufc? - Pugsly - 05-08-2006 Quote:Oh i\'ll quote you alright. Agreed, but 41 years old or not hes still a dangerous man i the octagon.I say Gracie will take him.Gotta love the UFC, i know i do...... Anyone Into Ufc? - Jason-V - 05-08-2006 Yea ive seen Gracie take out some big billy badass\'.. i would like to see him lose just once.. although i do not think MH can make it happen!! We shall see! Anyone Into Ufc? - jasonxmask - 05-08-2006 If you guys like UFC you should watch Pride Fighting Championships. I just watched the 1st round of the Open weight grand Prix PPV on friday night and it was one of the best events i have ever seen. I have to say im starting to think the fighters in Pride are much higher caliber than UFC IMO. Anyone Into Ufc? - FeAr HiMsElF - 05-09-2006 Overall, Pride\'s fighters are better than the UFC\'s. Especially in the heavyweight division. Fedor Emelianenko is the best fighter on the planet without a doubt. As far as Hughes/Gracie goes, Hughes shouldn\'t have a huge problem. But Royce is only 39 if I remember correctly, that\'s not much older than Chuck Liddell. I don\'t think even a prime Royce Gracie would give Matt much of a problem, of course there\'s always the chance he can pull off a submission. Some friends and I went to the weigh-in and the actual UFC 59 event and met and got pics/autographs from 9 fighters aswell as both octagon girls. Really cool. We\'re also planning on going to the weigh-in for UFC 60 in LA. |
