Very nice car Dan. I used to have a '79 Camaro and a '54 Bel-Air, wish I would have kept at least one of them. I'd like to get another project car sometime soon. Can't wait to see yours all finished up.

LOL... " I'm here to learn everybody,... not make out with you.. go ON with the clorophyl" haha.. thats so funny. Sandler is great.I would love to do it black with the eagle on the front and trans am decals...but without the shaker hood I would think car people would only see it as a cheap clone...honestly, who gives a shit what other people think ? if its YOUR car, and YOU are happy then so what. Paint it how you want , do to it what you want.. make yourself happy with it. Those "other people" dont have to drive it.not a cheap clone anyway... its real.. there are numbers on the body and engine to prove it... and if you need a shaker hood I can find one for you. those 2nd gen cars are all over the place here in the south. Some of them have been chopped into dirt racing cars but there are parts everywhere for them... I will keep my eyes open for a hood and if I see one you can use I will call you. check ebay.. search for trans am hood, then sort by location. you could be suprised and find one close to you .as long as you dont plan on selling it later, then dont worry about changing the hood OR the paint job. just finish the car to whatever makes YOU happy... then drive it down here so I can check it out. lol. If you think you might sell it later I would at least keep the original hood just in case so you can give it to the next owner with the car but do what makes you happy man.. fix it how you want it ! Those gold decals are expensive, and no matter what they are still decals.. they WILL start to peel off one day, wheter its 5 years, or 15 years.. they dont last as long as paint.. Its going to be REAL hard to find a complete, unused, set of decals anyway... There are other options. you could have the bird painted on. You could even "ghost" the bird in like those ghost flames instead of solid gold on top of black.. change it up slightly so nobody else car will look like yours. That would be sweet. ghost flames video.... do the bird like this.If any of you find some of those bowling ball hubcaps LET ME KNOW !... they are hard to find in good shape though.

Nice score! I love pontiac cars.

Anyone have a clue how old the rims are? They have a few surface rust specs but they're very minor and I'll buff and polish them out. I'm not going to change them though..they're very nice Cragars and I like the simple design..Now for paint...it's official...I've ordered the Trans Am Gold kit. Going to be freakin awesome. As far as the shaker goes, I'd appreciate it A LOT if you looked out for me chris....It's something that I am going to gather the parts for....but, it won't go into the initial paint job. A friend is a pro and is doing the paint for me anyway. So once I get the shaker hood stuff gathered by maybe next year or something, I'll make the change for free..But for now expect a TA without the shaker I'm SO stoked. Just drove the car home! Was nervous as hell on my first ride but it drove very good! no hiccups at allThanks guys! D
