Halloween Vs. Trick 'r Treat - WarLocK - 10-26-2009
Trick r Treat obviously captures the HalloweeN feel better. It's right in your face the whole time with masks, trick r treaters, all of it. The atmosphere is just awesome! When it comes to a good suspenseful horror movie though, I feel that it doesn't quite live up to the hype. HalloweeN cannot be touched there.Trick r Treat seems a bit rushed and while each piece comes together, it leaves a lot to be desired at the end. Doesn't matter though... TrT was a blast to watch and I'll be buying it soon as I feel that it will grow on me more.This is a definite cult classic and word is spreading like wildfire. Too bad it didn't hit theaters.

I'm going to have to pick Halloween. While Trick R' Treat has alot of cool Halloween imagery, none of it feels genuine to me. It's too overdone. Halloween on the other hand has very few actual halloweeny shots, but they are more realistic. Simple decorations here and there, watching old horror movies on TV, carving pumpkins with a babysitter, looking out the window to a darkened street and seeing shadowy figures that may or may not be the boogeyman - THAT'S Halloween to me.

Trick R Treat just oozes Halloween and will probably be a holiday favorite for many for years to come.Halloween is the better film though.I now its probably blasphemy to say this but Halloween 3 is my favorite of the series.Though I always thought it should've been called just Season of the Witch and stand on its own.
