Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy - SUCKFACE - 03-03-2010

I'd put this down to people protecting them selves from being on a list that contains written proof by an artist that they have used the image to freddy or a prop from the film that they do not own the rights to and have used it with out gaining a liceness to use and sell that likeness. new line have caused people problems in the past and I'm sure with a list of peoples names floating around that they could easily get their hands on I'm sure this is a reason why people are second thinking about giving consent I'd love to but it's not going to be available here in the uk and I'm not a fan of handing over any personal details if their is no gain for me and only possible trouble <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"confused.gif\" /> don't get me wrong, I'm really excited about this documantary it's great to know it's finaly been done

But the thing is...it doesn't have to be ONLY props that people sell, or replicas that people "profit" from. We're looking for people to display their collections, their tattoos, their horror collectible room, etc. As long as people don't LINGER on items or showcase individual items and they film it in a manner that no one can take issue with, then no harm can be done.I guess we just expected to see more submissions form people given how many amazing collections and items we know there to be in existence. And on the legal note, I think New Line has taken exception in the past, but usually only when people are using copyrighted names in their work, such as "Freddy Krueger" or "Elm Street". If they WERE really looking to shut people down, then websites like Nightmare Gloves and Knife Gloves would have been out of business LONG ago.

Trying to get written permission from a maker is usually a lost cause, sometimes you buy something on eBay you don't know who made it, or you will never hear from the seller again. They made their money they are not going to write in for you. Probably would not even email for you either. This is why many people just won't submi anything. Most artists would be proud to have their wok on the DVD and I highly doubt would be claiming about it, especially if credit is given. But yeah I don't see the problem unless like you said names and logos non NOES are showing. Anything Feddy or Newline should be fair game. Once you by a mask you bought the rights to exhibit it as far as I am concerned, and giving credit to the maker is merely a cordial gesture. That is why you pay big bucks you OWN it. I always credit mask makers regardless with my life-sized costumes.

Did a quick video for this for fun, had to rush it though with the deadline and camera has no sound, so tried out to splice it and time it just right with a recording and put them together. Came out pretty close the first time luckily, had no time for editing much. Wish I knew how to put a dark alley in the back. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtEC82uCX04
