I think it's a decent new look. . . not as good as it could have been in my opinion but it's fair. I just hope the movie itself is good.

Probably looks more authentically burned than the stylized Englund makeup, it looks very good but I'm sort of surprized by the overwhelmingly exuberant response at Horrorbid, everybody knew already what he was going to look like this pic just shows slightly more detail than we've seen before.I'll probably go see it and I'll probably like it, but Englund still owns the character.

According to an early review of NOES before they did the reshoots, someone said that Freddy was "no nonsense, to the point, smarmy, ugly, repulsive and just plain vile… what you would expect from a child molester and it fits the story."
