I'm perplexed by this statement. You also dismissed the movie as "very forgettable" yet you plan on picking it up on dvd. Apparently, you haven't forgotten about it yet.

Yes I haven't forgotten about it.... I browse horror forums. O_o
I plan on picking it up because in all honesty, it was probably my 4th favorite ANOES film. 1, 2, NN, Remake. It was entertaining the first time, I surely was not "pissed off" at platinum dunes this time. BUT, I still feel it was horribly done at parts, and a lot of the nightmare scenes were just LAZY, UN CREATIVE, and just boring.
I'd still like to hear what Robert thought, or hell even Wes. The thing about Wes is he was mad they ruined his creation with it's sequels, which is understandable. I would have liked to see Craven's idea of a nightmare sequel.

His official website has a link to a negative review of that garbage so he probably did dislike it. Unless the moderator of the site is allowed to post whatever news without his approval.
