What Type Of Spray Gun Do You Use? - Bear - 01-25-2006 Naptha can be found at most hardware stores next to the Acetone What Type Of Spray Gun Do You Use? - Chop Shop - 01-26-2006 I asked a pro this same question 17+ years ago and I\'ll pass on the same advice...I took it an never regreted it! Lay out the extra cash, go with Iwata brushes...Especially the HP-C gravity feed for detail to midrange spray. For larger area spraying, ie; basecoating , yeah you can go with a cheaper gun, but again, invest the extra expense of a superior quality gun and you have a reliable tool possibly for life. Even if you someday decide later your done with painting, you should have no problem re-selling Iwata\'s. Granted you took proper care of it..pros are always looking for lightly used stuff. Try their products and you\'ll never want any other! Put it this way, if your ever willing to drop 250 on up for a mask.. you shouldnt bat an eye at Iwata prices! Plus you\'ll look like a badass whith that kickin setup! No I dont work for Iwata, just a very satisfied ink-weasel. As far as compressors, if you are a NIGHTOWL painter...and live alone (and have good neigbors) a noisy compressor is fine..but man come 4am and your 1.5 horse compressor kicks over..ITS VERY LOUD! :o takes a while for the tank to refill too! We all know how even little sounds AMPLIFY in the middle of the night! makes you jumpy! Its comparable to beating on a metal trashcan with with an aluminum bat for about 2 solid minutes while singing the national anthem. If you want to maintain late night silence and sanity check out Silentaire compressors...youl be quiet as a mouse all night long. Check out coastairbrush.com for the best prices. I use Createx latex paint cut with a little rubbing alcohol and get very few clogs. Sorry for writing a book but its best to know this now. Happy spraying. What Type Of Spray Gun Do You Use? - ALLOUTMASSACRE - 01-27-2006 I\'m sorry to maybe change subject somewhat Warlock, but I noticed a few people mention using ink. I have only really used acrylic and oil paints, so I\'m curious about using inks. What should someone know if they wanted to go this route with painting. I do love the look of Casey\'s paintjobs. What brands and such should somone buy, and is creating colors with ink like same as mixing paint? To not bugger up the thread could this info be PM\'d to me to not get off topic unless Warlock doesn\'t mind? Sorry just didn\'t want to make a new thread about something that was already mentioned in this one... What Type Of Spray Gun Do You Use? - D-bach - 01-27-2006 FW acrylic artists inks is what justin told me he uses for detail. as far as mixing i have no clue man. What Type Of Spray Gun Do You Use? - WarLocK - 01-27-2006 Casey Love\'s work looks great... but some of his pieces crackle over time due to using too much ink and not enough latex/rubber cement mix. What Type Of Spray Gun Do You Use? - ALLOUTMASSACRE - 01-27-2006 So saying a good latex/paint base coat is good and just use inks for detail? What Type Of Spray Gun Do You Use? - D-bach - 01-27-2006 thats what justin told me he does |
