New Project And New Score - TallDarkandDisfigured - 03-25-2006 Nicely made! I\'ll put up pics later this evening. I have to dig out the rest of my Vader stuff to sell off anyway. Got a bunch of SW stuff to sell off soon. New Project And New Score - stainboy - 03-25-2006 Hey Andy or Trav.... Did you hear that Master Replicas is coming out with two versions of an authentic Fett Helmet? One for the mass produced and cheaply priced (which in MR terms, that means $300-400, I\'m sure) and the other is a pro model which I\'m sure will be $800ish. Although MR stuff is like crazy good, the pics that I saw for the Fett helmet don\'t look like they have a screen accurate paint job.....not sure how I feel about them.... Here\'s one shot of it.... ![]() New Project And New Score - stainboy - 03-25-2006 By the way, here\'s a shot of my Fett "Mystery" Helmet.... ![]() New Project And New Score - Andy - 03-25-2006 I\'d heard MR were bringing out a Fett but I hadn\'t seen any pics until now. Looks nice but your right about the paint. What\'s there looks good but it\'s just not detailed enough for me but I\'m sure they\'ll sell, the name and licence will take care of that. Nice bucket you\'ve got there though and is that the full Rubies deluxe Vader costume? What\'s it like in the flesh? New Project And New Score - travsall - 03-26-2006 Yeap, they announced the Fett a while back, I thought it was a pretty bold undertaking for MR, they do some nice work on standard helmets, but the delicate nature of the paint work on Fett doesn\'t lend itself well at all to mass production. That shot you posted was the very first releaded image, wasn\'t all the impressive paint wise, but they got the shape pretty good. A couple weeks ago, they had these pics of the prototype, which came out fantastic. ![]() ![]() ![]() But, what is yet to be seen is how the final product looks. And frankly, for the price on these, you\'re so much better off to get a mystery helmet and paint it yourself for half the price. Nice Fett Stainboy, I\'ve always loved the ROTJ look too, wasn\'t a question in my mind which way to paint mine! New Project And New Score - Bear - 03-26-2006 damn, now I\'ve got to get one...thanks guys!! ![]() New Project And New Score - Martoch - 03-26-2006 Great piece to add to your already awesome SW collection! New Project And New Score - TallDarkandDisfigured - 03-26-2006 Here is a couple pics for ya. Sorry but I suck at photos. First is the dome ridge, out of the box it\'s way to wide and it has no edge. So I dremeled the hell out of it. Still gotta add a touch of bondo to get it smooth again. ![]() Next is the eye area, took ALOT to build it up as you know the Rubies lens setup sucks. Had to cut it out and add about 3/8" to deepen the sockets. ![]() Here is the nose, again Rubies messed up and had 4 slots instead of 3 slots and a ridge, so I used some epoxy to fill it. Haven\'t redone them yet though ![]() And here is a shot of my armor and helmet which is all being worked on together. Armor is supposedly cast off an ESB stunt but I have my doubts... I have shin armour and a neck brace too but no pic of them. ![]() New Project And New Score - ChemicallyUsed - 03-26-2006 you do realize andy that i have a birthday so that vador would look good sitting in my room hahaha, also your fix-er-uppers are just UNBELIEVABLE loving the ATAT New Project And New Score - stainboy - 03-26-2006 Quote:I\'d heard MR were bringing out a Fett but I hadn\'t seen any pics until now. No, it\'s not the Rubies costume. It\'s a Don Post original CA, reshaped and custom painted in an autobody shop, as well as modified with aluminum components. It also has a 100% pieced together costume. Fiberglass armor, shins, full leather tunic, pants, cod piece and gloves. I even got the two cape set from an ILM employee. The set used to be used for promotional gigs in California. The cape is unbelievably long. I\'m 6\'2" normally, and in costume 6\'6", and the Rubies costume just doesn\'t fit anyone over 6 feet tall. I think they made it for shorter people. I\'ve always encountered this problem in costumes, so I figured afew years ago that I\'d put one together myself. Hope you think it\'s cool.... ![]() |
