Really Bad Paint Fading Problem - horrorconcepts - 04-03-2006 [attachment=15227:attachment][attachment=15228:attachment] This is way off topic but I have been wanting to show you guys for awhile now anyway lol. Well after my car was down over a year while we did body work and prepped it for paint. It cam out great as you can see in the first pic. 2 week\'s later it started to fade I think Mike saw it at his store while I had the fenders off it. The next pic was took today just around a year later. Come to find out that the House of Kolor\'s neon orange paint was only meant for race cars or something that would need repainted every week or so anyway. They just didn\'t bother telling me that until after I spent $1,400.00 on the paint alone. Atlease I didn\'t have to pay a painter lol. Really Bad Paint Fading Problem - josephchoi - 04-03-2006 man all that work for Nothing! that sux... nothing you can do except repaint it and keep it outta sunlight i guess.... o and don\'t feed it after midnight ![]() Really Bad Paint Fading Problem - mike - 04-03-2006 yes i rember seeing it but damn didnt know that shit would happen they realy sould have told ya thou and i dont think a car is any good if u keep it locked up.. Really Bad Paint Fading Problem - Ben_Forsaken - 04-04-2006 I know Maaco was famous for fading paintjobs a few years ago. Really Bad Paint Fading Problem - TallDarkandDisfigured - 04-04-2006 I\'d check with HOK on that one. I can\'t see them making a paint like that(temporary paint) available to publc, seems kinda odd like the clear wasn\'t UV protective. Did the guy use HOK clear too? Really Bad Paint Fading Problem - Jason-V - 04-04-2006 this seems odd to me.. Ive sprays several trucks with HOK..never heard of this... Really Bad Paint Fading Problem - horrorconcepts - 04-04-2006 Ya we used everything from HOK. When the paint store called them they said that being that it was a neon paint that there was nothing we could do. Even if I keept it garaged it would have only slowed the fading  . It sucked tho because I really liked the orange and black look. I was making it a HalloweeN inspired civic lol. |
