Must See Horror Flick Suggestions - WarLocK - 09-25-2006

I\'m in the mood to watch some good "must see" horror films. Please suggest a few here. I\'m pretty open from 30\'s classics like the Mummy all the way up to the 90\'s. Lately horror just hasn\'t been doing it for me though.

Here are 3 that I haven\'t seen yet that I will be picking up.

1- Black Christmas
2- Rosemary\'s Baby
3- Last House on the Left

I\'ve heard nothing but good things about these films, as each haunts in its own way far after the movie is over. Please don\'t post corny slasher films. I am more into the Psychological mind disturbing flicks that scare the hell out of you when you\'re home alone and make you check your deadbolt twice. As you can see in my avatar, Pet Sematary was a movie that really screwed up my head as a kid since I was only 10 when I first saw it... Zelda and Gage really did it for me.

Street Trash is an incredibly fun wacked out flick but I think its just the opposite of what Chad is looking for. You cannot go wrong with Black Christmas. Not gory but easily one of the creepiest slasher movies ever made. For something really different try watching the original Psycho from Hitchcock. You\'d be surprised how well this film holds up and how many people have not even seen it. I also recommend William Castle\'s "House on Haunted Hill"...the original not the crap remake. Its got one scene that still scares me to this day. Another two good scares are two from Tobe Hooper (TCM \'74)...try his adaptation of King\'s "Salem\'s Lot"...one scene in there kept me up at night for years as a kid.....I also happened to really love his recent remake of "Toolbox Murders".......................Larry

Thx for the suggestions guys. I\'ve seen Dementia 13, it was doubled up w/ my original NOTLD DvD. Pretty good flick for an oldie.... makes ya wonder bout the killer the whole time. I\'ll read up on those others Aaron.

Larry, I\'ve seen both Psycho and TCM \'74, along w/ most other very popular horror films so I\'m looking for those \'underrated\' flicks that don\'t get much attention. Toolbox Murders... hmm I\'ll check it out.

Another one that people seem to miss is "Tourist Trap"

These are some of my favorites, i\'m sure you\'ve seen them if not i\'d highly suggest picking them up.

Nosferatu (1922)
The Invisible Ghost (1941)
White Zombie (1932)
Carnival Of Souls (1962)

I can go on all day, i\'m a classic fantatic.

And I agree with you, new horror just flat out socks anymore. Nothing but PG-13 CGI infested crap.
