i know this comes as a touchy subject for many Hockey Mask makers but man in serious desperation i come in need of serious help.

let me explain my issue....

i have ordered several items for my part7 costume. and yet to recieve any of them. damn customs suck. these guys all sent to me fast but they are held up at the border. I have a drowned ghoul coming, a fiberglass part7 Hockey Mask, a most excellent rib cage from the dude\'s at xtremedesignFX, a slab of skin and leg piece from dan drista and some ugly hands i got off of ebay.

with only 2 days remaining till the big costume contest.... i have developed a back up plan. i have a new yorker from Eric Austin of the hma which is harry inmans cast.
Its a part 8 mask. I have no straps for it whatsoever and i am in desperate need to get this done by saturday. Can i go to a leather store and have them done?
Or must i gather seperate items before i do so? example like the d rings?.

please if you have any ideas please let me know. I might still be able to pull this off without any issues. I just need major help and feel comfortable right here at NIGHTOWL.

It really depends on preference. Some people want screen accuracy, whereas the Part 8 mask has a lot to it as far as the way the straps attach, to the special connector ring in the back. If you have a nice mask and just wanna wear it/show it off this weekend, go to the fabric store and get some black woven belt material. I believe it is a nylon weave (which means you have to burn the ends a little after cutting so it doesn\'t unravel) but it feels and looks almost like seat belt or a belt on a lifejacket. Go to staples and get a pack of brass jumbo paper fasteners or brads as they are some times called. Use these to fasten the straps to the mask. They look like brass snaps when done. A quick and easy way to strap a Hockey Mask. Then later when you have more time, you can take the old ones off and upgrade to more screen accurate straps if you choose. I know what it\'s like to be pressed for time, man. I am still finishing my strapping and my axe that I\'m gonna carry...AND IT\'s THURSDAY already!

I dont think im gonna do that bro. I did do that last halloween and man they where falling apart on me lol. Do u have pics of the part 8 straps? or does anyone know where to find some pics?

That\'s odd. That\'s how I strapped my PT7 Hockey Mask and it\'s rock solid.

tandyleather.com has all the stuff you need or maybe you should try locally would be best.

3/4 leather strapping
three 1 inch d-rings
1 inch three squared halter

now get going hurry!!!!!!!!!!

lol on my mary way lol. tandy is on the otherside of the city but thats cool im going regardless muhahaha.

i should add.... the d-rings that the straps go onto,what are them pieces that attach to the mask itself? tin or something like that?

That is more like FvsJ. Part 8 has a very specific connector ring if you are going for screen accurate. I know I have seen a pic on here, but I don\'t have one handy.

Hope that helps. Tandy leather cant do it for you, you will have to buy the parts and do it yourself.
