Mask Help? - tcm - 08-11-2004 i just ordered flesh colored latex colorant for my bubba masks, but before i pour the colorant into the latex, i was wondering how it works? if its better than painting the mask, and if it can painted over? thankx Mask Help? - Mask Murderers - 08-11-2004 Quite awhile ago, I used colorant from Monster Makers, it came brown & if you add a few drops to your latex you will get a light skin tone, the more you add the darker you will get, I actually like having a more white latex base to paint over. You will have no problems with adding colorant but remember the color you see when wet is lighter then when it dries so be careful. Honestly I think you should just use the normal latex color then just base coat it but try the colorant & see how it works for you, also if you add it to your whole bucket of latex, all of it will be skin tone, so this could cause a problem when trying to paint other colored masks. I prefer a light canvas to paint on but to each his own. Hope this helps a little. Bob Mask Help? - tcm - 08-11-2004 thanks a ton bob! thats what i needed to know. and i was worried that i would have to make all the latex- flesh color, cuz not all the masks i make are supposed too be flesh colored..and ive bought masks that have used latex colorant before and tried to paint over them and it didnt work, so do you think poring some of the latex out into a 1 gallon bucket and keeping it normal color, and keeping the rest of the latex and color just that gallon of latex would work? thankx again |
