So Angry Right Now - brettyboy - 07-09-2008 <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/verymad.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":verymad:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"verymad.gif\" /> I find out today that somehow someone in Europe hacked my paypal account and drained it today and also overdrafted my bank account that is attached to my paypal account. They got me for almost 300.00 SO I had a fun night of calling the bank and paypal to get this shit taken care of! So Angry Right Now - scream4me - 07-09-2008 Cripes! that sucks man hope you get it back without hassle.Whan it comes to my paypal account or even bank account, i keep it at 0 just for that reason! When i buy something i take the money and put it in my account the day of or before i pay.If someone want to hack me, its a waste of time. So Angry Right Now - brettyboy - 07-09-2008 I am happy that paypal is sending me one of the security keys for free now. So No one will be able to hack me since you have to enter the security code from the key every time you log in. I just have to make sure I keep it in a safe place so I dont lose it. So Angry Right Now - vezolution - 07-09-2008 Sorry to hear that man...that sucks royally.-Justin So Angry Right Now - nsmpls - 07-09-2008 at least it was only 300 id be happy it wasent 3,000 or more but ether way it sucks So Angry Right Now - reddwarf - 07-09-2008 <!--quoteo(post=266452:date=Jul 8 2008, 07:21 PM:name=nsmpls)<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE(nsmpls @ Jul 8 2008, 07:21 PM) <a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=266452\"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><div class=\'quotemain\'><!--quotecat least it was only 300 id be happy it wasent 3,000 or more but ether way it sucks<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndYeah I've had the security key for a month now...no way anyone could hack that even if they get your password...the key changes every 30 seconds So Angry Right Now - SuperDanDrista - 07-09-2008 You didn't get hacked..you probably logged into paypal from an email but was fooled into thinking it was actually a paypal page. They do that all the time.I NEVER log in unless I go straight to www.paypal.comD So Angry Right Now - brettyboy - 07-09-2008 <!--quoteo(post=266461:date=Jul 8 2008, 11:05 PM:name=SuperDanDrista)<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE(SuperDanDrista @ Jul 8 2008, 11:05 PM) <a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=266461\"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><div class=\'quotemain\'><!--quotecYou didn't get hacked..you probably logged into paypal from an email but was fooled into thinking it was actually a paypal page. They do that all the time.I NEVER log in unless I go straight to www.paypal.comD<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEnd I dont fall for those dumb phishing emails. Im not an idiot. I deal with credit card processing for my job and fraud on a daily basis. I work for a bank. Somebody hacked me. So Angry Right Now - SuperDanDrista - 07-09-2008 I just don't understand how someone hacks a paypal account. Those scammers are idiots. It's not something you can just hack So Angry Right Now - brettyboy - 07-09-2008 Dont know, but they changed my password and my security questions twice. They were from Europe because they were converting my money to euros. It was ridiculous. They were also just using it to pay stuff online that would get shipped so there is no paper trail. I'd like to know myself because I'm baffled as to how they got my info unless there as a breach in paypals records themselves. I found it kind of odd that they are sending me the security key free of charge to make up for it. It sounds kind of fishy to me. |
