Mould (casting) Help - caidenzakk - 08-20-2008

Now that I have finally got the mould separated from the sculpt I need some info on what I should use, or could use to repair alot of tiny hairline cracks in the mould ?? the face came out amazing, no bubbles, no cracks. but the back came out horrible, alot of cracks and I think I made the back half of the cast too thin, how can I reinforce an already existing mould ?? any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I believe you can use Bondo on it, not completely sure though.

Usually when I get this problem I go back in with more plaster. I put the two halves back together and I wet the half that has cracks with a spray bottle of water. when the water is soaked in by the plaster I make a new batch of plaster and fill in the cracks. Then I build up another layer of plaster or two on that side. If you want, along with that you can even do one layer of plaster and burlap at one point for added strength just incase.
