Installing A Zipper On A Latex Mask - mpetrie - 10-16-2008 Hi all! I am wanting to have a zipper actually sewn onto my Butterfingers mask to provide a much better fit. Gluing never works because if the latex stretches at all, the glue just detatches. Does anyone know of someone who does professional work and can sew a zipper right into the latex? Any info would be helpful. Thanks! Installing A Zipper On A Latex Mask - puckface - 10-16-2008 you could always just use latex rather than glue Installing A Zipper On A Latex Mask - hummie12 - 10-16-2008 pm sent (with link) <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" /> take care,Ronald Installing A Zipper On A Latex Mask - wickedbeard - 10-17-2008 Can I get that link as well? Thanks. It's a trans gender website that sells female masks with zippers on them. I don't want those artist laying a finger on my Butterfingers. They're into making some weird products and I'd like to find someone else more in my line of interests. Installing A Zipper On A Latex Mask - travsall - 10-17-2008 VERY simple thing to do, I've added zippers in a few masks, all ya need is some liquid latex. Use a q-tip and break off the fuzzy end on one side, use it to apply the latex to one side of the zipper CAREFULLY, use a few small clamps to hold it onto the mask and let it dry a day. If there's any latex on the teeth, pick it out and it'll be fine, just a pain in the ass. Do the same to the other side, open the zipper, apply the latex, and clamp it in place. You wanna be fairly liberal with the latex, especially on the very edge of the zipper, even take the q-tip and put some on the other side of the zipper edge so it soaks through. What you don't want is any spots that lift up, or didn't get full coverage, they will open and the zipper will pull out. Is the bond pretty strong when it's all dried? Installing A Zipper On A Latex Mask - travsall - 10-17-2008 Real strong, it's a latex to latex bond, so it'll hold up to a lot. The one mask I added one in is real tight, so it gets a good bit of pulling goin on and off, and never a problem or even feeling like it's gonna give way.BTW GREAT avatar!
