Does Anyone Here Own A Propshop Knife? - The Death Curse - 11-03-2008 I'm just curious...Has anyone here plunked down the (admittedly, quite a bit of) cash for one of PropShop's knives? They look positively amazing in the site's pictures. The blade's slightly harsh taper carries a sort of "evil" look to it, like the H1 knife had. Here's a link for anyone who hasn't seen it:http://www.thepropshopsite.com/PsychopathKnife.htmlIf anyone has ever owned one, what is the quality like? I've scoped 2 or 3 on Ebay over the past few months, but the guy(s) at PropShop always use the same set of prototype pictures to sell each knife. I'd love to see some new pictures from a customer's personal collection, and perhaps some opinions on the finishing work! Thanks in advance,Ryan Does Anyone Here Own A Propshop Knife? - The Death Curse - 11-05-2008 Bump, because I'd really like to know.Cheers,Ryan Does Anyone Here Own A Propshop Knife? - jeremtfoust - 11-05-2008 i have one. they look good. the only problem is the paint came off Does Anyone Here Own A Propshop Knife? - monteburns - 11-05-2008 On eBay I had bought an original Lamson knife out of Halloween season for $35.Most people do not put " Myers " or " Halloween " in the name when they sell these vintage knives and you just have to watch for listings. Why buy a replica when you can have the real thing. I love my H20 from JC. How much are the prop shop's? Does Anyone Here Own A Propshop Knife? - snowmon - 11-05-2008 Propshop's is a 100 dollers.Same with most of their stuff.I got lucky and got my Propshop clown mask for 50 and not for a 100.And I think he want's a H9 knife, the Lamson was not used in H9, I forgot the brand name but I'll reply back when I got the knife brand. Does Anyone Here Own A Propshop Knife? - WarLocK - 11-05-2008 LOL, I'm pretty sure Ryan wants the H1 replica from the Prop Shop. It's not really based on a Lamson anyway, as you can tell by the handle tip.A lot of rumors have circulated that the Lamson was used at some point in HalloweeN 1 - even told by Carpenter and Hill in the pastBut who really knows the truth? The knife that Laurie holds looks more like a Dexter or Henckels to be honest.I think as long as you pick up something around 17-18" w/ a hilt and similar handle... you have a nice accurate prop. I've never once seen a Lamson in all my collecting years that had a handle even *close* to the H1 knife design. And there isn't that much variation in the old, larger, hand-forged Lamson designs, so I've pretty much ruled them out as the "H1 knife" entirely. I don't know where you heard that bit about Carpenter and Hill giving "confirmation" to the Lamson, but I'd love to hear more about that.Dexter and Henckels are both very possible brands for the H1 knife, in my opinion. They have that sleek, curvy handle design like the H1 knife and were, at various points in the past, all produced from darkly-stained woods and hand-forged steel. My PERSONAL favorite brand of "H1-accurate" knives are from "Gustav"...And here are a few fine examples to explain why they're forever my favorite:http://cgi.ebay.com/MONSTER-GUSTAV-EMIL-ER...%3A1|240%3A1318http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Old-Gustav-Emil-Er...p3286.m20.l1116[attachment=28663:GustavEm...nifeEbay.JPG][attachment=28662:GustavEm...dVersion.JPG]Thanks and cheers,Ryan Does Anyone Here Own A Propshop Knife? - jeremtfoust - 11-07-2008 here are some pics man. |
