First Mask Sculpt (freddy) - carter1010 - 01-03-2009 Hello All,Well, this is my first attempt at a mask bust and of course it has to be my favorite anti hero of all time, Freddy. Its a part 1 version of the mask with lots of deep burn marks and that kinda flappy look his skin has in that first film. I haven't seen to many in that style yet, so thought I would give it a shot. Any comments would be appreciated. I am looking forward to adding a bunch of details to him. Thanks,Carter First Mask Sculpt (freddy) - IbDaToNeGuY - 01-03-2009 well since you are going to get this from ALOT of people , i just say it here so you can get a quick start on fixing it . get your form right first BEFORE any detailing . you are adding al lthe scars way to early in this piece . i can not say this enough but please please please take your time with this . do not rush . mike, First Mask Sculpt (freddy) - hummie12 - 01-03-2009 i agree with mike.and as i have said to another member recently about the part 1 Freddy sculpt:"just my opinion: you should first study the correct "shape" of Robert's head/ears/nose/chin etc. etc. without the Freddy make-up. before thinking about adding burns/scars detailwork".http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000387/mediaindexhttp://www.starpulse.com/Actors/Englund,_Robert/Pictures/http://www.starpulse.com/Actors/Englund,_R...dex.html?page=2Take care,Ronald First Mask Sculpt (freddy) - carter1010 - 01-05-2009 hello again,Thanks for the comments guys. Really looking for as much advice as I can get, negative is very welcome as that is the only way to improve. I think its coming along and I took everything that was said to heart and I think I addressed some of the issues. Please let me know what else needs work or what looks right / wrong ect. Please keep in mind it is a part 1 sculpt, and from what I can tell from the photos, the nose isn't really pointed downwards, and the cheeks seem more full on the part one. Any part 1 photos of either Robert at that age or Freddy would be very appreciated as well. Thanks so much,Brian First Mask Sculpt (freddy) - mybankey - 01-05-2009 Hi Brian,If this is your first sculpt, I think maby you should start with a nothing piece.Meaning dont try a Freddy, Jason, Leatherface,Michael, or anything like that until you get better at sculpting. I say this as someone who is wanting to start sculpting as well, so dont think I'm being a jerk. I have talked to a couple of people about doig this and that is what they tell me. Hell, I was told to sculpt and then smash that and sculpt it again and again until you get it down. I hope we both can learn this great craft!Best wishes,Tom <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" /> First Mask Sculpt (freddy) - GBeninati - 01-05-2009 <!--quoteo(post=290969:date=Jan 3 2009, 05:36 AM:name=gerard333)<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE(gerard333 @ Jan 3 2009, 05:36 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
<div class=\'quotemain\'><!--quoteci agree with mike.and as i have said to another member recently about the part 1 Freddy sculpt:"just my opinion: you should first study the correct "shape" of Robert's head/ears/nose/chin etc. etc. without the Freddy make-up. before thinking about adding burns/scars detailwork".<!--QuoteEnd
<!--QuoteEEndto take that further, you should first study the correct shape of robert's skull without the head/ears/nose/chin etc. etc. before you start adding any... errrr uhhhh.... head/ears/nose/chin etc. etc. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/teehee.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":teehee:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"teehee.gif\" /> First Mask Sculpt (freddy) - Fettster - 01-05-2009 heres how i think yo could mak the likeness better.1. smaller chin.2 longer, wide nose.3.suck in the cheeks to expose the cheek bones more.4 bring the forhead forward.5 round the eye brow area.good luck First Mask Sculpt (freddy) - puckface - 01-05-2009 what type of clay are you using? First Mask Sculpt (freddy) - carter1010 - 01-05-2009 Hey Puckface, I am using the NSP medium right now. I am going to try Pro Clay next I think. I like the NSP, but the Pro Clay looks like fun to. Fettster I made some of the changes you suggested already that I noticed last night when comparing the pieces in photoshop. I took the chin and jawline up and sucked in the cheeks a bit and made the head a bit taller. Here are some photos of those changes. I hope I am not bothering anyone posting my progress. Also, here are a couple of part 1 photos I have for reference. Thanks again for your input, it is making me better and push things further.Brian First Mask Sculpt (freddy) - psychosocial91 - 01-05-2009 The only thing I can say is keep on trying I'm still working on my first sculpt,The face might need to be a little thinner. It's definitely looking a lot better since the first pics though.Feedback is what its all about I wish you luck with your first piece! |
