Hey

I have a mask stuck in customs at the moment!! And they want me to pay 58 euro cause the mask is valued at $275 ( yip its a NMM78!)

I told them I sent it to the states to be repainted and I originally bought it here.
So I need to make a receipt or something!! Anyone have any ideas??

Cause I really dont wanna pay 58 euro!

Thanks
Andy Wink

If you want that mask anytime soon, you should pay up. You could write an appeal, but chances are you still have to pay. Even if you bought it in your home country and it leaves the country and is brought back, especially by mail it is still considered imported. 58 euros is alot of money, but you have to ask yourself how much this mask is worth to you.

What you should have done was to notify the sender before having your mask sent back to you. If you had kindly asked to mark the value as $15 or so, then this would have kept you from having to pay those fees. Whenever I ship to Europe, I always ask if the buyer would like for me to keep the value of the package low to save them fees. However, I do not take responsibility if it is lost during shipment.

As much as I hate to say it, you\'re gonna have to pay up.

The sender should\'ve either marked it with a value of no morethan $25, or marked it as a gift.

Yea I know this now and will do that In future!! It doesn\'t matter if its marked as a gift anymore your still liable for customs well thats what they told me!

Hate to say it, but you might be stuck with the charge. I\'m in Canada, so I deal with this kind of crap too, REALLY sucks to have to pay a good chunk of change on a mask you already payed a lot for. Once you get the charge, there\'s just not much you can do really except pay it most of the time, contesting it is a waste of time. There is one thing though, not sure how it works over there, but you may possibly be able to have the mask sent back to the sender in a \'Return To Sender\' format and that might nullify the charge, then just have him send it again makerd as a gift with a $10 value. You probably wouldn\'t get it back by halloween though.

Yea Trav. But then I\'l have to give him money to ship it back and it could take alot of time to get back to the US then back here, not a bad plan though

Wrong. Aslong as it\'s marked as a gift, you don\'t have to pay anything, no matter what the value is.
