Neca Remake hockey masks - WarLocK - 03-05-2009 I've heard a lot of people say that these resin hockey masks are fragile. They feel very durable in your hands.... but I've noticed when drilling holes for the cheek snaps the resin basically turns to dust, unlike drilling ABS or styrene. I have worked on a couple repaints and last night I just about dropped one that was 90% finished on my garage floor.... phew. I would imagine that it would chip or crack if it hit.... but I sure as hell am not testing it out lol. Has anyone here dropped one yet? Are the NECA VS hockey masks made of the same material? Neca Remake hockey masks - LeatherfaceFan07 - 03-05-2009 When I removed one of the snaps for the straps the mask chipped so I've been terrified of dropping it ever since. Neca Remake hockey masks - Savage - 03-05-2009 I would imagine they are very fragile, as they are certainly very cheap...nice though. Some of the repaints I have seen are great! Neca Remake hockey masks - hatchetface - 03-05-2009 I think they're great, they are more heavy than the ABS plastic hockey mask <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\" ![]() Neca Remake hockey masks - WarLocK - 03-05-2009 <!--quoteo(post=301769:date=Mar 5 2009, 12:45 PM:name=LeatherfaceFan07)<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE(LeatherfaceFan07 @ Mar 5 2009, 12:45 PM) <a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=301769\"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><div class=\'quotemain\'><!--quotecWhen I removed one of the snaps for the straps the mask chipped so I've been terrified of dropping it ever since.<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndI have been extra careful removing the straps so far. I've heard a few complaints about adding new snaps though. Some guys are using snap tools to set them w/ a hammer and anvil. That sounds pretty scary to me on these. I swear last night right when I was finishing up my tris in the garage I turned around and my elbow ever so slightly grazed the Hockey Mask and it went straight down towards the ground.... it was like a reflex to me though, my other hand reached out and snagged it just a few inches from the ground like catching a frisbee. I would have cried after all the hours of work I put into it. I am going to be extra careful from here on out. I'm just wondering if anyone has actually dropped it on a hard surface and had it survive yet. Neca Remake hockey masks - SirMWK - 03-05-2009 I dropped one about a week ago and it hit the ground face first. No harm was done to the mask. Neca Remake hockey masks - Sinister - 03-05-2009 I had the neca X one, and it took a fall from about 7 foot and broke all to hell. I have hardwood floors, maybe that helps? Neca Remake hockey masks - Jason-V - 03-05-2009 Havent dropped one yet, however i have set my new snaps with a hammer and anvil, no probs so far. Just very carefull!!!
