New Freddy Sweater (now Weathered!) - johnp - 04-04-2009

UPDATE: So I finally worked up the nerve to weather my Part 3 sweater (not the new Part 4 one I just got though <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" />). I used many pictures of the screen sweater as a guide, but I didn't go quite as crazy with the fraying -- it's a tedious process... at least if you want to make sure the sweater won't unravel later <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /> Anyway, below are shots of front and back. And some comparison shots -- screen sweater on the right, adjusted to account for the fact that I was looking in a mirror <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Smile\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" /><img src=\"http://blargon.net/n/sw/1.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://blargon.net/n/sw/4.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://blargon.net/n/sw/compare1.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://blargon.net/n/sw/compare2.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />And...<img src=\"http://blargon.net/n/sw/5.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />Thanks for looking!

Hey Tom,This sweater was made by Susan at www.customsweaters.com. The style (her "Bold Stripes") had been discontinued, but after some negotiation I was able to get her to make one for me (don't ask me what I paid...). I had many customizations to her basic style that I wanted, and we went back and forth by email a lot to work out all the details. This one was done to my measurements, and given more of a "V" cut by widening the shoulders and tapering the waist area a bit. Also, the set-in sleeves were modified to have less tapering (more of a straight line seam) like on the screen sweater. This also allows the stripes on the sleeves to hang a bit below the stripes on the body when I wear it, like on the screen sweater. The sleeve/body lengths were also adjusted. Etc...Anyway, she really did a fantastic job. The only minor thing I would change in the future is the collar. The screen collar sticks up a little more than hers do (I think it may be a slightly different style, similar to a short mock turtleneck).

Your sweater looks great and she does the best part three sweater.I did not realize that she has discontinued that specific sweater. I had almost cut mine to display a chest of souls and now I am glad that I did not. I wish that she would make a Freddy Vs sweater with the movie knit.

Great looking sweater. Nice score. You guys will not believe how much $$$ she is asking of me for one of these. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Rolleyes\" border=\"0\" alt=\"rolleyes.gif\" /> I am disappointed with her new "price," to say the least. lol.

New Freddy Sweater (now Weathered!) - hummie12 - 04-05-2009

congrats on the score. that should have cost you a lot of $$$ <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"wink.gif\" /> and now here it comes...........the hardest part is to age and cut the sweater like the particular Part 3 (Dream Warriors) style or are you going to keep it clean just as it is now.

Great looking sweater, congrats on the new score!

Thanks for the comments guys. At some point I may age/weather it with fabric paint and fraying, but not just yet <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" />
