Nightmare On Elm Street Remake Script! ***spoliers*** - mpetrie - 05-11-2009
DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ ANY SPOILERS ABOUT THE PLOT/SCRIPT!!!I decided to start a thread to get the thoughts from those who have read the known script for the new Nightmare Remake. For those of you who have read it, what are your FAVORITE new ideas/features in the script and why? I'd like this to remain positive so please keep negative opinions minimal. Let's mainly talk about our favorite things about the script for this thread.Here are my favorite ideas:1. Freddy is dark and evil once again! All I can say is: It's about time!2. I LOVE the idea of "micronaps". I read an article today about sleep and it's a true occurrence. The longer someone becomes sleep deprived, the brain suffers from "microsleeps" where it shuts off cognitive ability for seconds at a time. The longer a person refrains from sleep, the longer and more severe the lapses. It's a fantastic idea and if they pull off the special effects as well as I'm imagining, it's going to be an awesome idea! Especially in the pharmacy scene where the supposed real world and dream world flicker back and forth. I can't wait to see how they do the "world flickering" in the Pharmacy scene. It's also a cool idea that they ultimately show that she has fallen asleep in the car and is actually dreaming about having micronaps instead of only having them while being awake. Good stuff!3. Freddy is now a child molester instead of just a killer. This is how Wes Craven originally penned Freddy to be. My favorite thing that Freddy does that creeps me out is he sneaks up behind one of his victims and restrains her from behind with his arms and licks her on the cheek while whispering in her ear. YUCK.4. Many cast members offer high promise of a well-acted film. My favorite is Jackie Earle Haley. He's simply a gifted actor and should really be a great Freddy. I also recently saw Taken with Katie Cassidy. I think she is an outstanding actress and really can show emotion VERY well. She should portray Kris as well as anyone could. And of course... Clancy Brown is a great addition. Great on-screen presence and a talented actor. Kellan Lutz as Dean. I think it's hilarious that the casting crew got "Emmett Cullen" to make sort of a cameo appearance in the film. With the Twilight hype still going strong for the next while, many fans of ANY cast member are just flocking to movies featuring any of the actors from Twilight. I can just imagine all these fans thrilled to go see Kellan and then suddenly be shocked to see his guts spill in the opening scene. LOL!Can't wait to hear your favorites!

I try to dig 'em up. I too like the idea of the glove being a tool that he used for his job. Possibly used for snipping plants and such while gardening. I also like it when they are researching the other students and they find that they are all dead due to different reasons but obvious to them that Freddy's behind it all.
