Convention Vendor Question - mperaginejr - 06-19-2009 Well, we got a table at MM 13 in August, going to have a bunch of stuff, haven't really shown anyone anything yet, saving it for the show. Anyhow, going to have some hocs, and I had a question for some of the guys that have sold hocs at cons. For the part 6,7,9 leather straps, screen accurate is not adjustable. Do you go adjustable anyway for the con, or do you guys stick to screen accurate? If you do just go straight one size leather, is there a general size you use, that is more common? Any help you guys can give me would be much appreciated. Convention Vendor Question - maskcollecter10 - 06-19-2009 well i will probably buy a Hockey Mask from you, ill be at mm13, Z Convention Vendor Question - mperaginejr - 06-19-2009 good stuff man Convention Vendor Question - puckface - 06-19-2009 I usually dont use leather at all. I sell hoks for 45-55 bucks at conventions and most people still think thats too expensive. You have to keep in mind that most convention go'ers don't collect high-end replicas so anything higher than 25-30 bucks will lose their interests.I strap all my hoks with cheap elastic. That way I'm not losing money. However, sometimes there will be select fans who will pay higher amounts for leather, so I make a few sets in advance and bring along a rivet gun, just incase <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"wink.gif\" /> Convention Vendor Question - mperaginejr - 06-19-2009 <!--quoteo(post=318093:date=Jun 19 2009, 12:56 AM:name=puckface)<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE (puckface @ Jun 19 2009, 12:56 AM) <a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=318093\"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><div class=\'quotemain\'><!--quotecI usually dont use leather at all. Me and Max Had a hard time selling the more expensive hockey masks with leather at Mask Fest in Indianapolis a few months back. We're doing the Rue Morgue Festival of fear In Toronto from August 27-30th and out of the 100 or so hockey masks we bring, 5 might have leather! Convention Vendor Question - ZombieTom - 06-19-2009 I agree about going cheap. So many people are gonna try and low ball you from the start, You'll end up eating your balls if you dont offer variety in price. Convention Vendor Question - richardmalone - 06-19-2009 Yep, everything they have said. Most of the people there just want to meet the guests and get autographs. If you price your hockey masks right you will sell a lot more of them. Pay attention to the guest list and if they have actors that have played Jason you might want to bring extra versions of that type Hockey Mask. You also might want to advertise on the MM boards. Convention Vendor Question - mperaginejr - 06-20-2009 Thanks a lot for the input guys, it is much appreciated. MM12 was my first convention, and I thought it'd be cool to try and give vending a try. I was going to MM13 anyway, so at the end of the day if I can sell a few masks it'd be a huge bonus. I am going to post a few forum specials the week of the show for the few forums I am on. Was also thinking about raffling off a special edition piece as my donation to the make a wish auction in September, but not sure about that yet. Going to have a lot more then masks, hope to see some of you guys there! |
