Anyone Ever Sent An International Wire Transfer? - The Death Curse - 07-06-2009 Hey, all.I'm preparing to buy a new piece from overseas using international wire transfer. I normally wouldn't EVER use that method of payment, but that's the only option I have to complete this particular deal. The piece is from a reputable seller, so I'm not worried about that...but I'm *completely* stupid on the subject of how these transfers are done. Has anyone here ever done one, for any reason? I need to know if it's something I have to do strictly in person, or if it can be organized over a simple phone call to my bank with all the info in hand. Reason being is that I can <i>call</i> as early as tomorrow morning....but I can't <i>drive</i> down to my bank until Thursday morning. That's a big difference that could potentially have a bad effect this purchase. Can anyone help me by shedding some light on this process? It will be immensely appreciated! Thanks in advance,Ryan Anyone Ever Sent An International Wire Transfer? - Homicidal#9 - 07-06-2009 anything like that has to be done in person as far as i know. You first need to call your bank and see if they even do international wire transfers, since I know alot of Credit Unions do not...as well as certain banks. If you have never done a transfer of this nature before, you will definitely have to go into your bank the first time to set up everything. After that, if you do it again, for those people that do alot of international business, they give you a pin number and whatnot to do it over the phone or online after that. I called my sister in law on this one, since she worked for several years in a bank. She also said that wire transfers are not free. They can cost anywhere from 10-30 bucks per transfer.take care,Tommy Anyone Ever Sent An International Wire Transfer? - scream4me - 07-06-2009 this is true ive sent one to italy, you have to do it in person, and you need alot of there bank info to work, it takes about 15-20 minutes to do, and does cost to do it aswell so take extra. Anyone Ever Sent An International Wire Transfer? - FreddysNightmare - 07-06-2009 Hey, yeah I sent a wire transfer to Italy for my Freddy silicone mask. I normally would never pay like that, but that was the only way C. Cocco would accept. I had to go to my bank in person to do it and they charged me quite a bit as I recall so definatly be prepared for that. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" /> Anyone Ever Sent An International Wire Transfer? - BPRD - 07-06-2009 Getting in on the Brian Wade Part 6 I see. Your going to pay at least $30 for a wiring fee. My wife is head bank teller and she says its completly safe. Also, you have to do the transfer in person Anyone Ever Sent An International Wire Transfer? - The Death Curse - 07-06-2009 Thank you SO MUCH, everyone!!! This info has helped me immensely.I went to my bank today and began the transfer in person. It was pretty easy, all things considered. The service fee was a ghastly $55....But hell, I'm already paying a crapload, so what's $55 more? heh.The only thing I need now is a clarification of the seller's full address and I'm good to go. Thanks again for all the help, guys!! Here's hoping the transfer goes through without any issues! <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\" ![]() Anyone Ever Sent An International Wire Transfer? - krazedkilla - 07-06-2009 $55 bucks it cost you for the transfer!?
