Ebay Question - LeatherfaceFan07 - 08-08-2009

I haven't sold something on in Ebay in like a year. I sold something yesterday and there's a 21 day hold placed on the funds. Anyone else have this happen to them?PayPal and eBay are working together to make payments for eBay items even safer. Because we want both buyers and sellers to feel confident about sending and receiving payments through PayPal, we may temporarily hold payments for items sold on eBay.Make sure to ship the item right away, so you'll have access to the funds sooner. We'll release the hold in 21 days unless you receive a dispute, claim, chargeback, or reversal on the transaction subject to the hold. We may release the hold earlier if either of the following occurs: * The buyer leaves you positive feedback on eBay. * We confirm that the item was delivered.* We can confirm delivery if you ship the item with USPS, FedEx, or UPS and either use PayPal shipping labels or upload tracking information from the transaction details page. This applies to transactions within the United States.Additional hold periodIf you receive a dispute, claim, chargeback, or reversal on the transaction subject to the hold, we may hold the payment until the problem is resolved.Learn more about the PayPal policy for payments holds on eBay items.* This applies to US domestic transactions that are shipped by USPS, FedEx, or UPS and either (i) use PayPal shipping labels to ship items or (ii) provide tracking information to PayPal.

I am guessing cause you're a new seller

You sold something electronic like a cell phone, mp3 player, or laptop or at least that's when this always applies to my sales. This is now the standard practice. I have to go through it every time I sell something like that. However if they leave you positive feedback and you post tracking numbers to paypal, you can get the funds released almost immediately. I just call them after the buyer gets the item and I get my funds. -Joseph

I received a message like that from not selling anything for almost a year. I linked a bank account to my paypal, then set up the paypal account to accept instant payments.Never had a problem since.Jonny

The same thing happened to me. They kept it for almost the full 20 days until the buyer left me positive feedback.

I sold a mask on ebay a long time ago and I didn't even bother sending the mask out, I gave the dude a refund and said I'm not doing this crap because all they have to do is leave you negative feedback after getting the item and they get the money AND the item.

Ebay Question - JOEY - 08-08-2009

Wow... sounds like alot of bullcrap sellers have to go through anymore. What if you're low on your funds and need the $$$ you charge for shipping to actually ship the item?

Ebay isn't even worth it anymore man, I use Craig s list now, I've had a lot of luck selling on there believe it or not. Not much of a field for masks but anything else like electronics it's a good place to go.
