Score Freddy Silicone Mask - sirbrad - 09-10-2009
I have been looking for one that I like for 3 long years now, and finally found one that I love. I like some of the others out there too, but they seem to be too "perfect" sometimes. I really like the rugged look of this one, as well as the precise detail of what a burned guy would look like. I think this is the second new mold. His other mold was even more rough, maybe a tad too rough. But I think he really hit it here for a perfect combination of crudeness and facial structure. So I wanted to get it before he got too neat lol.Should be here in two weeks or so. I can't wait. Also got a lighter glove coming From Chris Granter. Not very screen accurate (Somewhat resembles VS) but definatly very very sick and nasty and discusting and scary. If your looking for your own version of freddy, and a sick one at that, you definatly hit a home run. I've talked to you about some things in the past and I know your like me in the reguard that awesomeness and looking good somtimes trumphs screen accuracy.

Yeah screen accuracy does not concern me as no piece is ever going to be 100% accurate. I believe in evolution, and today we can make even better looks masks and props than back in 1984. As you said, as long as it looks sick and nasty and is wearable for long periods of time I am happy. Even some of the screen used make up did not look great such as part 5. I think this was made off of part 2 or 3. Yeah I love custom looks but this one is still great and does have a little VS feel to it. Maybe that is why I got it as I wanted a VS silicone for years now but no one makes them yet. The propshop tried but it did not work out. I am sure making an accurate silicone would be difficult as I have not seen one yet.In my area people don't even know the difference between Myers, Jason, and Freddy let alone screen accurate. But as I said masks today can be made better than old screen accurate looks that were prosthetics. It was a pretty good deal too, not $1,000 or more like most. I figured I needed a break from Jason and was thinking about being Freddy to throw the whole town off who are expecting another Jason again. But I am undecided about that or Myers RZ. Both would be a hit too being the movies are popular now, as well as Friday the 13th also making a comeback. Yeah this is going to be sick and nasty, and I hope lots of kids are going to have "Nightmares" during my parade runs. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":biggrin:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" />

Yeah I love the combination, can't wait to see it on me and on a life-sized. Yeah this is the one that finally made me open my wallet quickly after years of searching for the right one. This one also has a nose insert unlike Christian's. I really love how it looks in the low red light on the video above singing the lullaby.

The mask arrived arrived today, wow that was REALLY fast from Italy! Only about 3-4 days. Should be fast considering the shipping was almost $60.00. I took some "initial impressions" photos just to see how it looked under various lighting etc, and I love it. The eyes were very small and narrow, so I had to cut them slightly with small mustache trimmer scissors because my eyelid's were getting crushed. I never cut silicone before so I was scared crapless. But I took it slow and it worked out well. I would like the mouth to be cut more to show my teeth, but it looks OK as it is. I would love to be able to cut the mouth fully so my lips are exposed, then use make-up and perhaps latex to make a prosthetic for more movement of the mouth.It should work as the silicone mask should still hug the face tightly. Anyone ever try this? But with the price of there masks it is tough risking it. Seems like it would work though, even if just having the lips out and then using make-up on the lips. But other than that it fits well and feels great on. It has fabric inside. My low-end camera can not capture the awesome details fully, but it looks great in regular or low lighting. I am going to make a life-sized with red lighting eventually as well. I got tooth color for teeth so I can make my own teeth into Freddy teeth, as the FX Fangs get uncomfortable after awhile, but would like the mouth a little bigger. The little scissors are great. I just took some quick pics, I will take more with the complete costume when I get my glove and pants done.I just used the plastic one I made out of the Rubies version. I hope to get more pics during Halloween too with a better camera. I may use red make-up on my lower eyes or if I have to make the eyes bigger. Would I need a setting powder for it to stay on? Been a long time since I wore it under a mask so I forget. I don't want it on top of my eyes though in case it would run down, and all of the warning labels say not to put it near eyes, but I think underneath may work, but also don't want it sweating down on the mask. But the eyes are still small enough that you can't see it in lower lighting anyway, the pics are close with flash and still look great. Hope to get some pics with "Jason" soon too. I was also surprised how good the mass marketed Freddy teeth looked, unfitted even. I may make a plastic mold for them and try them out as they don't look so bulky with the mask on, but still a pain to wear. I may just use them for display or make my own. Tooth color is the best for speaking. Here is the album and some first pics: I have the masked pulled down slightly so I can see the camera, normally very little is showing under my eyes.
