Joker Jack Nicholson Lifesize Bust - monteburns - 09-13-2009
I finally finished painting my Jack Nicholson Joker bust this week.I hand painted the entire bust as my airbrush is out of commission at the moment.I added prop eyes, eyelashes and clothing.I may upgrade the green prop eyes in the future to high end glass eyes.I got really good results using sponge, & dry brush techniques. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":thumbsup:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" /> There is shading on the face & in the hair but my photos do not show them very well.

Looks great man, I also love the way sponges paint on masks, it's a lot better than using a brush, especially for base coats.

Thanks for the positive compliments.I dropped my airbrush right on the needle when I was doing another paint up. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":confused:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"confused.gif\" /> You do not need a airbrush to get really nice results.Using a sponge for basecoats is a really great technique and it avoids brush strokes.I normally airbrush my main colors & then finish my projects by hand using wash/ dry brush techniques.

Great job, it looks fantastic. Good job on hand painting it and I think the eyes look really good as is. Glass ones will really set it off though.

Great job.Did you get a good deal on some of Howard's busts? Those things are pretty pricey. I bought a blank Batman bust two weeks ago.
