Hey everyone... I tried a quite different aging method on a test piece and just want to collect some opinions. I've been wanting to try to make all of the copper look a bit more aged. I've just personally felt that the lower finger sections on my gloves often-times look too clean/new. I'm doing this because I think the copper when the glove was first made had a bit of a random coloring to the brown on the fingers. That eventually disappeared as the copper got older and the colors became quite uniform by Part 2. So, I mixed an artificial aging method and mixed it with a natural aging method and this is the result. The brown coloring has a more random coloring (yet similar) to it. What do you think? Yes or no? (Thanks in advance!)<img src=\"http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/knifegloves/DSCF4860.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/knifegloves/DSCF4863.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/knifegloves/DSCF4864.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/knifegloves/DSCF4865.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />

Hey mark, i like it, looks like it has actually been stored away and aged on it's own, its got a rusty look to it!!!!

Yes, the weathered the better <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" />

Again... I'm still shooting for screen-accuracy in terms of the weathered look and coloring. Here is a second piece that I changed the aging method just a bit. Which one do you think looks better/more screen accurate? The one shown above or this one?<img src=\"http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/knifegloves/DSCF4868.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/knifegloves/DSCF4871.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />

IMO, i think the top one looks more along the line of the real hero glove from 1 and 2!!!!

The top one involves a natural aging method along with a dual application of chemicals and the bottom one is the same except I used only one chemical. The second chemical darkens the piece a bit more and changes the hue of the brown.

Another couple of shots...I treated the second piece with the second chemical to match the first one. Here's how they both look now. <img src=\"http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/knifegloves/DSCF4875.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/knifegloves/DSCF4873.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />

I like the one on the left <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /> Though the one on the right reminds me of how the hero looked in the pt2 promo pics.Did they repaint or re-weather it after pt1??<img src=\"http://i325.photobucket.com/albums/k376/jezlock/nightmare20on20elm20street20420drea.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />

Yea mark, the darker one looks more orginally aged, and doesnt give off a shine like you were talking about, diffently the darker brown looks closer to the orginal!!!!

I believe that when the glove was first made, the colors on the copper were much more contrasted (especially the fingertips) but as time went on, those colors began to blend and take on a much more uniform color as seen in Part 2.
