well something I dont use but you can try use a scotch brite pad and dull out the metal to make sure the protective coating is gone. Then leave the pieces in some saltwater over night then let them air dry and in a few days you should get some nice colors/oxidation going on. havent tried it myself but heard it works well.

I have a patina gel that cost about 8-10$ and its reacts very fast. You only need a bucket of water that you mix some of the patina and you let your metal piece inside... Just look at you piece and when you like the weathering you can take it off. It can take about 1-5mins a piece depending on how many patina you put in the water and how weathered you want your piece.Good luck.
