I think HELLRAISER is a very underrated film because of how it was exploited in it's sequels.
I think the most overrated characters are THE CENOBITES. I think the plot of Hellraiser was a lot more than the cenobites. I feel the situation occurring between Frank was very intense and disturbing, but I didn't get that feeling from the cenobites. I felt the characters were very exploited in the sequels, and it was the perfect example of how franchises are created, and corrupted.
Anyone elses thoughts? Opinions welcome.

any horror character that has a franchise behind them is pretty much overrated, based upon your thinking. Every single horror icon out there today has been and will be exploited within sequels in order to make money....that is just how it is...at least in my opinion...

Tommy I agree, that's why this topic is about opinion on the MOST overrated. I said cenobites only because I thought Hellraiser was a great film, but I agree.
*** SAW, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween, Hellraiser, **** Scream, etc. Could have done without sequels.

I'm gonna go with Babyface from Hills Run Red. All I heard were good things and about how cool of a charecter and movie it was. Rented it and it was predictable garbage. Waaaaaay overrated
