Got My Mm Bubba - puckface - 12-05-2004

Well, got my MM bubba today, and I love it....however....it was just a little to plain for my tastes. First, I took aluminum tape and covered the inside cardboard piece to make it seem like the huge sliding door. Then, still a little plain, so I added blood, guts, etc. Then it needed bubba\'s little peephole, and a handle.

After that, I added hooks to the doorway and side opening. The chain came from an old Spawn toy of mine that had a sh!tload of chain to spare. The hooks are made of saughter, bened to shape, and then added dry rubber paint mixtures to seem gut like.

As for the finishing outcome

Well, didnt wanna start another post, but just wanted to see if anyone was interested in reading a paper I wrote. We had to write a persuasive essay for Englsih, and here was mine. I got a 94

70’s and 80’s Horror VS. Today’s Horror

Today’s horror…not exactly what I would consider horror. In the early 1970’s, film had a sudden take-off. Horror being its genre. Since the 1970’s to the 1980’s, horror was pure. It was pure with original ideas, story plots, characters, and props. However, is horror like this today?

Horror movies have changed drastically since the early 1970’s. The most common difference is usually the story line. Back then, story lines were original, today, you can see a large amount of story lines, or plots, that have already been used. For example, a movie recently released by independent film makers, “Bloody Murder”, was set at a summer camp for teenagers. The villain wore a hockey mask and mechanic’s jumpsuit. In 1982 the third edition to the “Friday the 13th” series had started the original hockey mask-wearing-villain getup, not to mention the original camp for teenagers plot. Coincidence?

In a large amount of movies today, mainly horror, the actors and actresses have become less talented, in my opinion. They just don’t quite cut it. Today, musicians, and reality television stars have been taking roles in movies. However, there may be musicians and television stars who can do both, acting just isn’t for everyone. This should be left to the professionals.

Many people prefer the original villain when it comes to horror movies. This is usually a psychotic male normally wearing a mask to cover a grotesque or distorted face. Or, the villain may have a grotesque or distorted face, and not wish to cover it with a mask, therefore possibly causing even more fear into the minds of his victims. Since the millennium, most villains tend to be spiritual. Although spiritual monsters or ghosts may be scary to some, which is more believable?

Twenty five, to thirty years ago, computer technology had not yet made its impact quite as advanced as today. Therefore, props and scenes had to be built or crafted by hand. Hard work and dedication had been put into the simple cut, gash, slit, or scrape. Today, most of those special effects are done by CGI (computer generated imagery). Also, many locations and scenery are done by a green-screen. A green-screen is a blank wall, often green or blue, that later has an image added by computer where the wall appeared to be.

To wrap things up, horror movies are not as good as they used to be is not a proven fact. Maybe later in the future, it can be proven by surveys or polls. However, horror movies were more original, and had better, or should I say, more qualified actors and actresses. Basically, they had more work put into them. Most films today are just looking to make a quick buck. Where has the effort gone?
