Receiving Money From Paypal Using The Personal Payment - emazers - 06-21-2011 I Knew they were going to get me, it was just of matter when. I got this E-mail from Paypal Today. Try the newest Yahoo! Mail Your Arrest Records :ppk1Tuesday, June 21, 2011 4:27 AMFrom: "p2p@paypal.com" <p2p@paypal.com>Add sender to ContactsTo: emazers@yahoo.comDear Ed Mazerski , We recently changed our pricing so that all PayPal customers can receive money from friends and family within the US/CA for free. PayPal merchants receiving money as payment for a purchase, continue to incur fees. We’re not sure if you are aware of this, but we noticed that some of your customers are sending you personal payments for purchases of items or services. Unfortunately, this violates our rules, and we need your help correcting this. Please don’t ask or allow your customers to use personal payments to pay for their purchases. If we continue to see such activity , we may have to disable your ability to receive personal payments, and then you will pay fees for all money received through PayPal. You can find more information about payment types and fees in sections 4.2 and 8 of our User Agreement – just click “Legal Agreements” at the bottom of any PayPal page. If you have any questions, concerns, or think we may have made a mistake, please contact us at P2P@paypal.com. Thank you for helping us resolves this matter. Sincerely, Tracy Personal to Personal Team Receiving Money From Paypal Using The Personal Payment - Mutilated - 06-21-2011 I really hate using Paypal anymore since eBay took them over, it's getting to be ridiculous. What was once convenient is now nothing but a pain in the hiney. Receiving Money From Paypal Using The Personal Payment - msharrow - 06-21-2011 i am surprised i have not received this email yet. personal is the only way i do paypal. i swear its cheaper to go money order. might be the way to go if and when i get this email. it will take longer but sure is a lot cheaper. mike Receiving Money From Paypal Using The Personal Payment - Darth Veach - 06-21-2011 It's getting out of hand. You're right Bill, it was a great convenience at first, now I just feel like they are taking advantage of a situation with the joint effort with Ebay. Both websites nickel and dime you to death to the point where it almost isn't worth it to try to sell thru them. Ebay is actually charging fees now based not only on the final value price, but also the SHIPPING! How can they justify a fee based on a service they themselves don't provide?? Then of course Paypal gets their cut of what you get paid for! emazers - How did Paypal know you were receiving payments for goods? Were you using them to create shipping labels for the items even though they were personal payments? That's the only way I can see them red-flagging it. Otherwise how would they even make the connection on what you were selling? Receiving Money From Paypal Using The Personal Payment - clownnation - 06-22-2011 Its a buisness, they dont care about you. They want the numbers in their coffers to get higher. This isnt a good or bad thing. It just is. The bigger issue is that alot of scam artist tell people to pay them using personal payment (no fees) and not send the item or service. The person who paid the money waved all protection because they selected the gift option. A guy on craigslist sold a car and haggled prices with the customer, then agreed to a lower price if the payer agreed to send the money using the non fee version and of course he never produced the car. I see pay pal as a nessessary evil. Its faster and safer than someone bouncing checks at you. Then of course Paypal gets their cut of what you get paid for! the reason they're adding shipping to the overall final value fee is because of people trying to trick the system. they'll list electronics for like $10 but shipping will be $500. this is how they were getting by with not paying a final value fee. like clown said, it's a business and they'll do whatever they can to make a dollar. even if it drives away potential customers and long time customers. i sell on ebay constantly and i'm getting pretty sick of their antics. Sad thing is, honest sellers like you and I who charge a fair amount to ship are getting shafted. I have a $35 item with $6 to ship it and when it ends, I will be charged almost $5 in ebay and paypal fees!! Receiving Money From Paypal Using The Personal Payment - gummi - 06-22-2011 I never liked when people would ask me to use the personal payment option due to the number of thieves in this hobby. It got to the point that I just wouldn't do it anymore. Most people were understanding about this, but if they insisted on it, I just wouldn't deal with them. I figured it would only be a matter of time before PayPal got fed up with losing money and started cracking down on this. |
