Jun 19" Gremlins Stripe That I Repainted - monteburns - 08-29-2011 I recently repainted my 19" Jun Gremlin Stripe. He originally came in a weird lime green color which was meant to replicate the movie poster. I started prepping him & then base coating him in 3 different shades of green. I also added brown washes to get the color that I wanted. The mouth was also repainted with saliva added & I thickened up the mohawk to look a little more screen accurate. Pics taken under florescent lights. Before pic. ick Jun 19" Gremlins Stripe That I Repainted - Chainsaw - 08-29-2011 What a difference! Very nice job... I love Gremlins! Absolutely jealous, I am! Jun 19" Gremlins Stripe That I Repainted - IbDaToNeGuY - 08-29-2011 I may just have to buy one and get you to redo it . Turned out great  mike, Jun 19" Gremlins Stripe That I Repainted - monteburns - 08-30-2011 Thanks guys. It is actually a numbered piece out of 1000 that I purchased online a few years ago from Japan back when they had them for $100. The sculpt is fantastic but the lime color really bothered me so I finally built up the courage to repaint it a more accurate color. It is funny how in bright lighting Gremlins appear dark green & in darker lighting they can appear to be a shade of brown in the movie. Overall I am happy with the finished result & even though I probably devalued the piece by painting it. |
