Scream Scarecrow Question - mybankey - 11-04-2011

I got this yesterday from walmart on discount. I was wondering if any of you have it, because the mask has a bad smell. More then that new mask smell should be,its almost like a gas smell, and the robe has an oil like feel to it. Anyone know what i can clean it with, without messing it up or shrinking it?
Thanks,
Tom Smile

Burlap tends to smell that way naturally, and since it\'s been sealed in that costume bag, it\'ll probably be pretty potent for a bit. It should dissipate soon if you just let it air out.

Cool, yeah, i have noticed the smell is going away. As for the robe, i just washed it and hung dried it, and it is fine.

Tom, I actually made that costume so I went and checked samples to see if any had a similar smell, all just smelled like burlap. Brunnen-G basically hit the nail on the head. It was made in the factory sealed in a bag and shipped. I think the gas smell is a combo of glue and burlap. If the mask still smells after you air it out for a while shoot me a PM and I will help you out.
