A Very Frustrating Revelation I Just Learned Today! - Hydrocephalus - 11-10-2011
Well, I\'m going to cut to the point. Professional FX artist Conor McCullagh of "face off" fame has not been active on these forums in over 2 years. Rather, a former friend of his has been impersonating him through his account. The man responsible is in fact Paul Hartman. Apparently Paul Hartman has already had a bad reputation, and has even been banned from these forums.
I discovered this through a bad transaction for one of my HUD busts. I had been corresponding with who I though was Conor who claimed to be interested in one of the "flawed" copies from the first run. Fully believing it was indeed Conor McCullagh, with his iron clad reputation in the collecting community, I sent him the bust before receiving payment, something I never do.
Well, once the bust was sent, naturally "Conor" was not responding to my messages any more. So, today I contacted the real Conor on Facebook, and found out that I\'d been had. Apparently Paul Hartman was using the account without his knowledge, and has gone completely awol since a divorce. Conor said that he was going to have his NO account deleted.
So, all the promoting that Conor was doing during the first season of "face off", yeah, that was Paul Hartman.
Just seems too ridiculous to be true, but it is.
The funny and sad thing about all of this, I had cut who I thought was Conor a really great deal on the bust. Firstly because it was a "flawed" copy (although you would have never known it by the time I finished it), but mainly because I was so proud and excited to have a well known and respected artist who never collects, interested in owning my work. Color me very disappointed.
Well Paul Hartman, luckily it wasn\'t about the money for me. I just hope that the lifeless piece of cold resin you fooled me out of can somehow fill the vast empty void in your sad little life. Perhaps it can love you like the wife that no longer wanted you, you sad, pathetic man.
Yeah, that was really cold and below the belt. Hell, that was downright villainous, but I do feel better, and I can\'t use any curse words here, so I had to improvise.
Anyway, I wish no ill will on anyone, and thought some of you may find this interesting.

I would have this matter investigated legally right away . That\'s flat out fraud and personally I wish that loser would get life in prison for all the crap he\'s put everyone through . If you still have the address you mailed the bust out to , i\'d give the local cops that info so they can track him down quicker . keep us updated if you don\'t mind . That would so make my day to hear that piece of trash is finally taken care of once n for all .

Conor has made and painted several pieces for me in the last year. Ive been contacting him through his email though, not on here. What a shame!

Wow... what a story. I remember in the old days when Paul Hartman aka "Bloodyaxe" was a mod here. Then stories started breaking out all over the place about him ripping people off. He\'s been on / off the Sideshow Freaks forums as well, and pulling the same crap, resulting in bans there. What a crappy story man, I really thought that was Conor too.

Not good to hear at all, this is a huge problem. Sad to hear the lows Paul has reached, he was a good guy and good mod on here at one time, now just a pathetic con man. Thanks for bringing this to everyone\'s attention, safe to say that account will be banned and deleted since it\'s obviously compromised. I\'m going to leave this topic open so everyone can see in case anyone else has done deals with Paul pretending to be Connor. Please keep things forum appropriate though, Paul\'s a scumbag, but there are still rules here.

He had me send the package to Conor\'s actual address, and simply picked it up from his house knowing he was gone. Apparently the two were actually very good friends at one time. Any other contact info simply led to a dead end. His Facebook has been inactive for a very long time, and I am not sure if it is possible to track him through his old email.

This is actually the second time someone has impersonated Conor. an old friend/ room mate of his got ahold of his Freddy Vs Jason,( Jason bust mold) and was selling copys ,saying he was Conor. the " Good Son" Vs bust. Told me he was out of town on a movie when he caught him online selling them , using his name. Cant remember what he said his name was.

all that story sound fishy to me !!!! The guy as connor password on here !! Connor gave it to him or what? Even knowing that this guy was banned over different forum and even here??? if not well that guy steal connor name, post some things and follow up when faceoff was on last year, then buys a mask !! make it ship to connor address !!! picks it up.... never pay etc etc .If he is a friend of connor and that connor gave him is password and all to access is account here well i would say that connor is in a big part responsible and should help you out and go knock on his door if he lives that close wich looks like he is since The other guy knows where Connor lives and even picked up a package to connors place.Annyways i would just not accept what is happenning....But its your call that is fraud i would just not even accept the fact that Connor says to you that is account will be deleted and thats it !!! i would not stop your investigation to just that !!!Or Connor is aware of everything or its simply identity stealing........either way Connors knows him and lives near by..............................I am not accusing Connor of annything here but he personnaly knows paul Hartman so show connor all the proof os discussion between you and paul and the proof of delivery and ask him to go see his friend personnally if not call the authority with your story.
All and all never send annything without getting paid first even if its the president of the united states........
