I can\'t let go of this guy. He\'s too awesome. Don\'t undersell yourself either man - it\'s a spectacular sculpt IMO and this thing is a work of grotesque art. I love the hell out of it. My wife, not so much lol. It\'s just got a certain presence that I enjoy and it\'s still one of the most gruesome pieces I have to date. And you\'re right too - as far as I know, there hasn\'t been another take on the wounded JV after Tommy gave him the machete death whack. Btw - what was the exact run on this guy? I heard around 10 or so. If I had one complaint about mine, it\'s merely related to the guy I got it from years ago. Now, I\'m 99.9% sure Lewis Frye had it before him (this guy re-used pics from the auction Lewis put up about 2 months before), and then I got it after. This guy that (I believe) bought it from Lewis flipped it pretty quickly, and I pounced on it. Problem is, he was kind of a knucklehead and shipped it without too much care to what he was doing. It was summertime and hot as hell outside, so some of the tacky blood on the head stuck to the inside of the box during shipping and resulted in some paint loss in a few spots. Thank god I was home the day it was delivered too, otherwise it would\'ve sat outside in the heat all day and probably been 10,000 times worse than it was. It\'s not THAT bad, but it\'s definitely there. Seeing as I\'m now talking to the master craftsman that birthed this beastly bust into existence, any notions on how I might could safely touch these small spots up and make them less obvious? I\'ve wanted to for years but been afraid I\'d just make it worse lol. I\'d greatly appreciate it man. Michael Jackson Thriller Busts - frosty - 07-07-2012 Hey, no problem, glad you like him, thats an easy fix really, if you want a gloopy runny look mix up some five minute epoxy and add it to the edge of the cut (mix it really well, and get a good brand, cheap ones will go gummy or yellow quickly) and let it run down, gravity will do it for you, then to colour it once set i use tamiya clear, red or yellow, to darken the red i use a touch of brown, if you just want to colour area\'s, use the tamiya red with a touch of brown again, use an old brush to feather the paint, or a small piece of sea sponge to dab it on Michael Jackson Thriller Busts - Hideous Looking Man - 07-09-2012 Thanks man! I will definitely give it a try. I think I will just touch up the spots with paint loss versus another full blood application on the wound. Don\'t wanna overdo it. He\'s pretty dang gorpy as is lol! I appreciate the info. I may contact you again via PM before I apply anything to make sure I don\'t screw it up lol. Michael Jackson Thriller Busts - frosty - 07-10-2012 I don\'t mind at all, yeah its my most gruesome piece so far |
