Posts: 836 (2/25/05 4:12 pm) Need Contact Info, and an update -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey gang, A lot of you who have been around for a while will know me, but any newbies probably aren\'t going to, unless there have been horror stories floating around. To try to make a long story short, I\'ve been out of mask making for about a year and a half, since immediately after Halloween \'03. A lot was going on around here at that time and since, initially positive, then ever-increasingly bad until bottom was reached finally sometime last summer. During the Halloween season of \'03 my mask making company reached all-time highs in sales and production and, unable to hire enough help, I ended up working day and night for two months filling more orders than one man could handle, shipping literally more than a dozen masks overnight FedEx at the last minute at my expense. Unfortunately, I was not able to complete all the orders for the \'03 season on-time, leaving approximately 10 orders unfilled. This naturally led to a handful of extremely unhappy people, with due reason, and I started to work November 1st finishing up uncompleted orders and fielding angry correspondance. Some was angrier than others, and the majority of customers who had paid by PayPal filed for refunds and received them. Although there is no way to be certain if it was caused by an angry customer, a worm was executed on my computer via a Trojan horse planted through Windows XP security lapses, which ruined my hard drive the first week of November \'03. All of my records and contact information was stored entirely on my machine without harcopy backups (my own fault) and was lost beyond my ability to recover. No reasoning I can give can ever be a good enough excuse, but the torrent of angry correspondance, loss of all my data, lack of money from spending thousands on overnight shipping which lead ultimately to my house being foreclosed, all lead to a downward spiral of depression that nearly resulted in suicide this past summer. I say all this with much difficulty, knowing that these things can be and are fabricated by those with ill intentions, but I speak the truth and ask no forgiveness, only understanding. As I write this now, I\'m well on the road to recovery, have started a new job, and have finally become financially stable. I realize there are still former customers out there who did not receive their orders from a year and a half ago, and today I received a notice from one of you requesting a refund of your money order. So I\'m placing this message on what was (and I assume still is) the largest and most frequented mask-making message board on the net, asking for detailed contact information from customers who did not receive their orders from Halloween 2003. I have set up an email address at nfxstudios@yahoo.com where I can be contacted, and I need the following information: Name Address Item Ordered Amount Paid Email Address Telephone Number I will be issuing refunds to all who respond at this email address (I can remember some names but have no contact info or order status info, so please be honest if you\'re making a claim), and, where possible, also shipping the ordered item with the refund. I have limited numbers of masks remaining in my old studio from post-Halloween production, and while there aren\'t enough to fill all the orders and the capability of producing new items no longer exists, I want to ship out as many of these items as I can to customers who ordered them. To be more clear, it is my intention to fully refund the purchase price of your order, and supply the item you ordered if the item is still available. At the very least, you\'ll receive your money back. I\'d like to ask that no one reply to this thread with flames, no matter how deserved they are, nor with any kind of well-wishes, as those aren\'t deserved. There\'s no excuse for my lapse in the past year and a half, only reasons that I hope reasonable people can at least understand. This has been a very difficult time for me, during which I\'ve lost a lot of very close friends and nearly my own life, but I am committed to holding up my end of however many deals were not completed in October of 2003. I offer my sincerest apologies to those involved and hope to hear from you all soon so that all can be taken care of as well as possible. Thanks for your time.
