New Line Cinema certainly hopes so, as it has scheduled a meeting this week with Quentin Tarantino to discuss his possible participation in the next installment of the "Friday the 13th" slasher series. A studio spokesperson confirms that the "Pulp Fiction" mastermind has expressed an interest in bringing his unique slant to the iconic hockey mask and machete. Currently being referred to internally as "The Ultimate Jason Voorhees Movie," it is unknown whether Tarantino will write or direct, or whether Jason\'s most recent nemesis, Freddy the burned guy, will participate. Keep your razor-gloved fingers crossed. ... In more certain QT news, the former video store clerk will direct the season finale of "CSI," according to The Hollywood Reporter. The episode, which will shoot in April and air May 19, will involve one of the key members of the CSI team getting into some serious jeopardy. Here\'s hoping it involves William Petersen and "the gimp." ... In addition to "Die Hard 4.0," Bruce Willis will soon film "16 Blocks," which casts him as an aging police officer who gets caught in the crossfire while walking a witness to a New York courthouse. Richard Donner will return to the director\'s chair at age 74. The film is in pre-production and will shoot in Toronto and New York, Donner\'s production company reports. No release date has been set. ... In other Bruce news, "Ladder 49" actor Robert Lewis has been approached to appear alongside the star in an upcoming project. "I might have something coming up, an FBI movie, in June. Possibly with Bruce Willis. They\'re trying to work things out. I\'d play one of the FBI agents." Lewis said the film will be a drama, but it won\'t get into any of the recent issues that keep the real-life FBI so busy these days. "I don\'t think it\'s terrorists. It\'s in a lighter vein. Of course, everything compared to terrorists is a lighter vein. It\'s a drama, kind of an action-drama." The film is currently searching for both a director and a name. ... Natalie Portman has left Darth Vader\'s side for a new masked man. The actress has begun filming what might be Hollywood\'s next blockbuster sci-fi enterprise: "V for Vendetta." Co-staring James Purefoy ("Resident Evil"), the film tells the story of Evey (Portman), a clueless, beautiful ingénue who gets rescued by a masked vigilante (Purefoy) after a life-threatening situation engineered by the totalitarian regime of futuristic England. Produced by "Matrix" architects Joel Silver and Andy and Larry Wachowski, the film will be released November 4 by Warner Bros. ... With Will Ferrell\'s big-screen adaptation of "Bewitched" coming together for a July 8 release, the rest of the cast has been twitching with some tidbits of information. Amy Sedaris got to recite a classic phrase while playing the world\'s most famous nosy neighbor. "I play Mrs. Kravitz," said Sedaris, "So I literally say, \'Abner, Abner!\' I mean, that\'s pretty much all I say." Stephen Colbert also leaked some details about the sitcom writer he portrays, but we think he might be making it up. "Nicole Kidman and I get it on," he said. "I don\'t want to give away the plot. Just [that] Nicole and I get it on." ... When she lined up two dramatic biopics in "Grace" and "Every Word Is True", Sandra Bullock had fans whispering about the "Miss Congeniality 2" star\'s reinvention as an Oscar-worthy actress. She begins the transition this May with "Crash", a "Magnolia"-like pastiche of Los Angeles heartache whose trailer is currently generating heavy Internet buzz. "You don\'t ever do anything for Oscar ... Well, that\'s not true. I was going to say you don\'t really do anything for Oscar contention, but I guess people do," Bullock said. "These are small, great projects that just came along and blew me away. I had stopped working for a while, in front of the camera for like a year and a half, and I had no intention of coming back until (\'Million Dollar Baby\' writer/producer) Paul Haggis, who wrote \'Crash\', said, \'I really would like for you to read this.\' After I read it, I was like, \'Anything you want for me to do in this I\'ll do.\' And it was the best four days of work I\'ve ever had. It\'s fantastic." (Check out the trailer here.) ... Paging Mike Myers: Call from Seth Green on the white courtesy phone. When asked about all those incessant "Austin Powers 4" rumors, the man known as Scott Evil insists, "There\'s no script, and Mike Myers is MIA. I haven\'t talked to Mike Myers in over a year. To the best of my knowledge, there\'s nothing legitimate or official going on. So any rumors you hear, it\'s just that. I\'m sure I\'ll be answering \'Austin Powers\' questions until I\'m 90." Myers, interviewed separately, admits to his own tendency to vanish for months at a time. "I\'m gonna do \'Shrek 3\' next," Myers said, "And I just finished writing a movie. I write the movies I do, so I don\'t have a lot of movies coming out frequently. It\'s always about two years between stuff." Seth, you might want to keep 2007 open. ...
