Hey again all,
Just one question: how do you weather elastic straps without harming the structural integrity too much?
I\'m not referring to tearing or shredding them up, but giving them that dusty, worn look, as if they had been sitting for 20 years.

id say throw some baby powder on them...pact it onto the straps shake it off, repeat till desired look...not TOO perminent...but it will look good

If worse comes to worse....i guess spray paint could work. May not look fantastic, but it get\'s the job done.

I like the baby powder idea... I was going to apply thr same principle with fuller\'s earth, but, apparently, it\'s fairly corrosive over periods of time. Too bad.
Anyway, thanks, and keep the suggestions coming. This is a mask-making board, c\'mon...!

I\'ve never heard of baby powder being corrosive. All of my masks have been powdered from the inside for years. This keeps them nice and dry and prevents dry rot from occuring over time. Where did you hear that it may be corrosive?

no, you misread. He said that Fuller\'s Earth is corrosive, not baby powder.

Ah... that makes sense. What is fuller\'s earth? Thought it was a mask of Jon Fuller\'s, not a type of powder... lol.
EDIT: Nevermind... just looked it up on google.
