Ok, Lets Talk... - puckface - 01-06-2006 Who here remembers seein their first horror movie? I remember when I was 3 or 4 years old...we had a copy of Halloween that had been released by Media. I believe it was cut for nudity and language, and some of the killing scenes. But anyway, I wasnt aloud to watch it ofcourse, but knowing how I was when I was little, I did stuff anyways. Being the little devil I was, I would wake up in the middle of the night, and put the movie in...thats all I really knew how to do, so I guess the movie would just start on its own when youd pop in a tape....anyway, I would watch it every night for many nights in a row. My mom finally realized there was some reason that the tape would always end up in the VCR and the TV was on in the morning, so I guess I got busted and she took it away for a while. (that is untill Id find it and start over again LOL) But she never really got upset though cuz my moms a HUGE horror fan like I am, and loves knowin Im in this hobby. She knows all the characters of my masks, and we always go to see new horror\'s that look good, and then occasionally kick back and watch the classics. But whats funny, is that Id then have nightmares, but it was after she took the tape away LOL But yea, for me, it was HalloweeN when I was about 3 or 4...next came the Freddy films and I LOVED them... what about you guys? It scared the living crap out of me as I was only 6 years old. Rented it at a small video store before blockbuster got big as well as Hollywood Video. The store was called Rent-A-Video and we really didn\'t mean to rent it in the first place. They mixed up the video\'s big time as my mom wanted to rent The Lion King. She told me to go watch it in my room and needless to say I did only it wasnt The Lion King and never bothered to tell her that we got the wrong movie either. Been going back to the horror movie section ever since. Halloween night, 1981. I was 4 years old and at a halloween party. I was bugging my parents and they told me to go watch tv...I went over and sat down with the older kids who had just turned it on looking for something to watch....which was Halloween. The first time it was ever aired on tv....I sat and took the entire movie in and it pretty much changed me. It sounds silly, but it\'s the truth...that filmed was burned into my mind and pretty much became an obsession at that point. |
