What Type Of Spray Gun Do You Use? - WarLocK - 01-24-2006 Hey guys, I\'m looking for a good spray gun out there, as opposed to just a cheap air brush. Something that doesn\'t clog every 5 minutes or so... just wondering what you have experienced with and what you like etc... model/brands would be helpful. I know that they all can clog over time... just looking for a better one. Also, what kind of compressor do you recommend to go with it? Thanks in advance! -Chad What Type Of Spray Gun Do You Use? - adam - 01-24-2006 I think, as far as painting masks, when mixing latex with the paint, its inevitable that the airbrush will clog. However, I hear that painting with Inks like say, Casey Love does, that it doesn\'t clog. Maybe instead of changing hardware, just change materials. It is pricey though. Good luck on your search though. What Type Of Spray Gun Do You Use? - Jason-V - 01-24-2006 I use House of Kolor model air guns to paint cars on the side.. but CHECK ebay they have small airguns for like 10-40 bucks that work great.. if your mixing latex with paints.. over time yeah its gonna clog up.. when i paint up latex blanks.. the only part the stops up is were the paint goes into the gun.. (Gravity feed gun) from the paint cup.. i get some thinner and some pipe cleaners and im back up and running.. shooting laquer thinner through the gun also breaks up most buildup.. now as far as airbrushes.. they suck when it come to latex paints!!! I\'d say an airbrush with a .5mm needle and large dup would be great for latex painting. They can handle metal flake without clogging up so thick materials should be fine. As for a compressor, I use a 3hp 5 gallon Campbell Hausfeld compressor. Loud as hell but no problem keeping up with my airbrush. What Type Of Spray Gun Do You Use? - WarLocK - 01-25-2006 Thanks. Any other suggestions out there? What Type Of Spray Gun Do You Use? - frosty - 01-25-2006 I use a few different brushes for spraying, one of the workhouse brushes i use is the aztec brush, the quick change nozles are ideal, i use fw acylic inks over a pax paint base, if i use latex based paint, i use an external mix brush, i picked up a couple of ebay recently, if they get too clogged it is easier to clean. The compresor i use is a tabletop version, noisy but works well, i just added a moisture trap to keep anything out of the airline What Type Of Spray Gun Do You Use? - mike - 01-25-2006 any good gravity feed spary gun brands vary everyone knows the best cost more it jsut depends on how good ya want but spray namptha threw it after ur done to clean it out it will disolve latex water jsut makes it booger up..but inks are great for detail work..but i dont add very much latex to my base paint they work better and dont look as rubbery but it all depends on what your paint and the look and the amount of cash u wanan spend jason v psoted a pretty good deal on a spray gun..
