Threepio Has Arrived!

I can remember about 10 years ago standing in the window of a Sharper Image downtown Chicago glaring at the Don Post full-size replica of C3PO - totally upset because I knew I'd never fork out 10 Grand for a film collectible, though I knew deep in my heart that I savored it the most.

So, when Sideshow announced their lifesize bust edition this summer (due out this winter), it literally became a waiting game until I knew that silly droid would be at my doorstep.

I am floored.

I love this guy. I truly love this guy.

First off, it weighs almost 40 lbs - the heaviest film prop I own.

His eyes light-up as seen in the below pics.

C3PO's restraining bolt even comes off (it's magnetic!)

His head is fully manueverable...

And out of a sold out, limited edition of 750. My bust is labeled No. 18. I have never owned such a low production number on any mass-produced item.

Needless to say, I'm thrilled.

It's like I'm a little child again...sitting in my local theaters...eating up some story about a galaxy far far away.

I've always thought of SS to be way overpriced but that thing is well worth every single penny :thumbsup: . I've also wanted one and a T-800 .

Oh man, huge congrats! I wanted this piece ever since I saw the teaser.
I absolutely love Sideshow's line of Star Wars 1:1 scale replicas.

Thanks everyone on the lovely comments...glad to know there are still some SW fans out there despite the existence of the prequels...gulp...did I just say that out loud?

I've always loved the look in A New Hope.

Yeah, I almost forgot to add that Sideshow specifically modeled this design off of the "A New Hope" look. I appreciate that they went that direction opposed to the "Don Post" clean version direction, which, in my opinion, is antithetical to the "used future" look that Lucas was aiming for when he created Star Wars.
