I was speaking with Ken, about the Part 3 and the shape and this is what he had to say.........
The mask in part 3 (The Original ) is the largest mask , Richard who played Jman was a model, big guy but he was smaller than most in the face, even with the appliance.. when The actor who played Shelly was holding the mask that is the size of the mask.. period, after Richard put on the mask (he had a STUNT mask which was made of .90 ABS),it pulled tight to fit the makeup applaince he was wearing,. so not to slip sideways as he moved, he wasn\'t a fast runner by all means... but did alot of wip-pans with his head causing the mask to slip sideways and reveal the under appliance at the wrong time... That is all plain and simple, so if you want the mask to bend just tighten the straps..
All the masks are off the same mold or copied off the same mold up to 8 and FvsJ as far as I know... Think about it, I am not going to spend thousands of dollars to make another mold.. period.. back them I made 31.00 an hour + overtime, = 2,600.00 week just my labor then the material and price of mold,(so production is not going to allow me to make 2 molds) even though they didn\'t pay me for the mold back then.. those cheap bastards..
This is comming from the person that worked on the orginal mask for the movie, So this is it.
I\'m sure some of you know this, but for the ones that didn\'t. This is the real dieal.
