Your Films For Kids Opinions - Ruste Dowg - 12-20-2008 Both for us old fart members and you younger members but is it me or is there a real lack of movies with a string of sequels like we had back in the day like star wars and Indy films that keep our kids interested and excited about movies? As a Dad i only see my kids looking forward to harry potter and transformers new movies, with all the money in the film industry and how it's grown it's like the companies keep churning out new movies so that us Dads run around helping the kids collect the toys only to sell them all off a year later because something new has come out with this Christmas' must have toys!Is it me am i getting REALLY old now!! <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /> Your Films For Kids Opinions - Ruste Dowg - 12-20-2008 I really enjoyed the 'Spiderwick' film, my eldest son has read all the books and we were hoping for more. The Darren Shan books are a big hit with my eldest too who loces a horror tale lets hope someone gets round to making some of those into movies that horror fans can take their kids to and enjoy with a pg/12 cert. Your Films For Kids Opinions - Willowman - 12-20-2008 Chronicles of Narnia, man. The movies are pretty darn faithful to the books. Good movies even if you aren't a Christian as the religious stuff is undertones. Your Films For Kids Opinions - Ruste Dowg - 12-20-2008 Here's a picture of Daniel meeting one of his horror writing heros, can you see a bit of Kane Hodder in Mr.Shan?!<img src=\"http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y116/rustedowg/001-10.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /> Your Films For Kids Opinions - IbDaToNeGuY - 12-20-2008 i would have to say Narnia , the harry potter series ( although the newer ones get pretty dark for the young kids ) , madagascar ( sp) , surfs up , toy story , monsters inc. , basiclly any Disney movie . but it really all depends on what the parent lets them watch as i was watching horror movies at his age and even before , so it's all different with people . mike, Your Films For Kids Opinions - imperialhockmaster - 12-20-2008 You make a great point Darren, i have 6 kids and its seems they lose interest over thier toys very quickly and are into something new every few months or so, and as for the horror movies kids can see with us, well my kids watch them all anyway, maybe its bad parenting but thats the way i was brought up, and thus aquiring my love for horror, we are a pretty open family and tits and ass are pt of horror movies unfortunately, those are the only pts i make them cover thier eyes for, the blood and guts they are pretty numb to as they see the that stuff everyday in my shop, but i remember a great scary movie i seen when i was a kid maybe you might remember, and i loved it, it freaked me out, i had to see it again, its called "SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES" , did you see that one, if not you should check it out with your son, its a great scary movie and is family friendly, also "LABRYNTH", and never ending story, all great films i still enjoy watching with the kids!!! It will make them a better person trust me. Your Films For Kids Opinions - Homicidal#9 - 12-21-2008 i think people have pretty much summed it up nicely. You have the Narnia films, The Potter films, and the random disney films. My only issue with the disney films is they come out of the gate with the first film and it will always be great. Then, all the sequels are direct to dvd and aren't nearly as well made or written for that matter.I may be one of the few on here that truly believe that children should not be able to watch horror films and violent films until they are old enough to understand fully what the films are portraying.take care,Tommy |
