Check Out This Awesome Horror Art! - Slasher Asher - 01-16-2009 Came across this: http://kult-vhs.forumactif.com/galeries-f8...emelki-t168.htm at a other forum and figured I'd share it with you. This makes me miss the 80's even more. Todays horror covers look somewhat dull compared to these. Check Out This Awesome Horror Art! - Willowman - 01-16-2009 Dude, I love these. Thanks for posting! Thanks! Check Out This Awesome Horror Art! - LeatherfaceFan07 - 01-16-2009 Thanks for sharing man. I bought my brother (brettyboy) a book that collected foreign film posters from around the world at the Virgin Megastore in Paris last year. It was a really nice book. Hope he still has it and maybe can share some of the photos <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":whistling:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"whistling.gif\" /> Check Out This Awesome Horror Art! - puckface - 01-16-2009 <!--quoteo(post=292957:date=Jan 16 2009, 01:51 PM:name=Slasher Asher)<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE(Slasher Asher @ Jan 16 2009, 01:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
<div class=\'quotemain\'><!--quotecCame across this: http://kult-vhs.forumactif.com/galeries-f8...emelki-t168.htm at a other forum and figured I'd share it with you. This makes me miss the 80's even more. Todays horror covers look somewhat dull compared to these.<!--QuoteEnd
<!--QuoteEEndYou're exactly right. Because most of todays posters and cover art is technically not what I'd consider "art" art, ya know? Covers like the original Paramount Friday the 13th films, The Nightmare on Elmstreet series, Evil Dead, Halloween, Maniac, Texas Chainsaw, etc etc. Those were all actual paintings and whatnot. Today there are mostly cool photographs which is obviously the better marketing tool, but not as original. It's just not the same anymore.... I would've loved to have these posters in a better resolution collected in a book like that. This artist; Laurent Melki is famous for his movie posters back in france. Check Out This Awesome Horror Art! - LeatherfaceFan07 - 01-16-2009 Yeah it was a real treasure to find there and it was in English <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" /> so I had to scoop it up. |
