I love AIC but I don't like the new singer. I usually hate when a band changes a singer and keeps the name. They should have came up with a new band name. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't buy a new album and give it a shot.

Mad Season was a great collaboration. I'm also a HUGE fan of Jerry Cantrell's solo albums. I read that Boggy Depot is considered AIC's last 'lost' album because of the many contributions from AIC members on the album. If you like AIC and haven't checked out Jerry's stuff, you're in for a treat.

Alice in Chians was always and still is my favorite band...the new singer sucks my balls. I saw Jerry Cantrell at the Gypsy Tea Room in Dallas years ago and he was great, I also saw the "replacement singers" band Comes With the Fall they opened for Jerry and they sucked BAD. I see no need to replace Layne with a new guy, If the remaining members of Alice in Chians toured without replacing Layne and Jerry sang his and Laynes parts that would be all right with me. Love AIC but haven\'t heard the new singer. I agree with Dr. Killjoy, a band should change its name when it changes singers, especially after the band has been gone for so long. I\'ll definitely give this new guy a chance, though. On another similar note, Blind Melon is back together with a new singer. They are one of my top 3 bands of all time and it\'s gonna be hard not to compare this new guy with Shannon Hoone...just like this new AIC singer with Staley.

Yeah, especially since toward the end Jerry sang and harmonized at least half of the vocals anyway. Jerry could totally pull it off. And Willowman I agree, Blind Melon was also another favorite band of mine as well. They too, like AIC, were very under-rated and deserved more credit then they got. I can't see anyone replacing Shannon.Layne is AIC as Shannon is Blind Melon.Everyone who thinks BLind Melon is the just the band with the Bumble Bee girl, just give a listen to "SOUP" and "NICO". -Justin
