Coolest Custom Fig Ever - knewby - 06-15-2007 I think someone needs a chill pill. What works in the comics doesn't often always translate well to the movies. I don't need/care to have comics movies follow 70 years of history. Take the character....what makes him great....great actors and a fun storyline and that what Begins was. Did it follow the 35 origin stories told since the 30's? No..and it didn't need to...............................Larry Coolest Custom Fig Ever - puckface - 06-15-2007 <!--QuoteBegin-DragoBloodlust+Jun 15 2007, 11:25 AM<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE(DragoBloodlust @ Jun 15 2007, 11:25 AM)</div><div class=\'quotemain\'><!--QuoteEBeginNo offense, but did you READ Batman year one, or any of the old Batman books? They BUTCHERED it in "Begins". First of all, Batman DID train with Ra's Al Goul. BUT< he also trained with hundreds of the greatest fighters in the world. Also, Where was the detective training? Bruce Wayne learned from some of the greatest investigative minds on the planet.Second, Lucious Fox. The character of Lucious in "Begins" has nothing to do with Lucious in the books. And lastly...WTF is up with Scarecrow? Some pansy lawyer with a mask and some mist? COME ON!! Scarecrow is one of the deepest charcters in the Batman mythos. I can't even get into his origin because i don't want to type 20 more paragraphs.OK, now that that's out of my system... LOVE the figure.<div align=\"right\"><a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=224225\"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndUh yea bro, Ive read just about as much as I can because my uncle worked at a comic book shop and gave me a new set of comics every single day. Batman has always been my favorite since before I can remember. Im not embarrased or ashamed to say I dont know as much as you, which is fine with, but that doesnt make me any less of a fan.As opposed to the 89 film, nothing is closer to the comics. But I can agree with you that Scarecrow was made into a huge puss, and they didnt do his character quite that well. I remember in the comics he was a real whack job and would seriously f*ck with people's head. In a pretty morbid way too if I remember correctly. Still loved the full returns suit though Coolest Custom Fig Ever - DragoBloodlust - 06-16-2007 <!--QuoteBegin-knewby+Jun 15 2007, 04:56 PM<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE(knewby @ Jun 15 2007, 04:56 PM)</div><div class=\'quotemain\'><!--QuoteEBeginOh I'm with you on this....The cowl from Batman and Batman returns was f'n killer...liked it much better than the Begins one.....................Larry<div align=\"right\"><a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=224275\"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndYep. Total agreement there. i think the whole fell of Tim Burton's Batman flicks were better. Dark gritty Gotham And The Dark Night in a long eared cowl. Plus, and just for shiggles, I have to say that Michael Keaton was the DIFINITIVE Batman. Coolest Custom Fig Ever - puckface - 06-16-2007 Well then we found somethin we ALL agree on! |
