some jack ass must of stole the original straps off the mask so they replaced them with some cheesy screws and nuts. Golgo 13 is right about them using a counter sunk washers. i also noticed the cheek snaps look like they are filled in with some kind of milky translucent plastic.

You can also tell that the eye sockets have a black mesh type fabric behind them and I noticed the cheek snaps also, almost looks like somebody took a hot glue gun and filled them in...
