You know what... now that I think about it, I ordered the Maximus helmet from that Heritage of Scotland place a few years back and when I got it, the base stand did not have the Factory X plate. But the inside of the helmet did have the Factory X sticker. I was thrown off so I emailed the seller and he said all of the bases he had in stock did not have the plate. He never told me it was a knockoff though.. makes me wonder. Regardless it was the nicest Maximus helmet I've ever had... very heavy and those spikes could kill. Here I am wearing it...And here it is on display... w/ the sticker inside. Score Of A Different Kind - knewby - 04-16-2008 Chad, yours looks like it was the real deal. Perhaps Factory X shipped some at the tail end with stands that did not have the name plate. I also emailed Heritage and they told me the stands had no name plates...kinda scared me off but perhaps I was wrong. The other company was the one that still shows Factory X but when asked told me they have "great quality" Chinese duplicates. The main reason I wanted the originals is because they were made by Windlass Steelcrafts in India, which is a phenomenal company in the realm of "battle ready" weapons........Larry Score Of A Different Kind - WarLocK - 04-16-2008 Thanks for the info Larry. I just now noticed that my helmet did indeed state it was made in India. The craftsmanship was top notch on it, as I remember. There are tons of knockoffs on eBay that just make me laugh. Good luck on your search... will let you know if I find anything. Score Of A Different Kind - knewby - 04-16-2008 Just got an email from Heritage and they said neither the stand nor the helmet had stickers or plaques and that they were just "replicas"..........hmmm....I'll keep looking |
